REVIEW:
Betrayal is book one in the Infidelity Series. I have been anxiously awaiting more work from Ms. Romig as she is an automatic one-click author for me. Betrayal did not disappoint. I was quickly swept up into the life of Charli and Nox. It was intoxicating, swoon worthy and the sexual tension built right along with the time constraints their relationship set out. I felt myself getting to know them while they avoided just that at all costs. I felt the loss as soon as they parted ways.
True to her mind-bending twist and turns style of writing I found the breadcrumbs Romig left for readers along the way. Many I know will be revealed later in the series. While I very much enjoyed Charli, I found myself drifting away from Alex and wondering about Alexandria in her earlier years. I enjoy the intrigue this author builds however; in the second half of the book I very much wanted to see Alexandria Collins through the looking glass, straight into her past. The time back in the manor at times felt stalled and slow to me. The dilemma, being home and all that it entailed was but a blip on the radar sure to be revisited in future books.
The dip in my focus may have been mainly due to a noticeable lack of Nox. He has a very magnetic personality and I can’t wait to delve in deeper. My senses picked up and the story once again had my undivided attention when he was present. I think this is a great beginning to the series and I’m interested to ride the tide in and out as these two characters navigate the world, define the rules and discover the truth they each hide. I would definitely recommend reading Betrayal. A solid four stars for me.
