UK fans! The UK Walking Disaster cover is out! What do you think?

I was given an ARC for an honest review.
Lisa says it best…..  “Love isn’t about what you have or who you know.  It’s about how you earn what you have and how you treat those you love.  The material things don’t matter, when your heart is full of joy and contentment.”

Plastic Hearts is about a girl named Alexandra Riley, who has always lived her life to please others.  Alex’s parents had her entire life mapped out for her, right down to the college she would attend, her college major, even the men she was going to date and one day marry.  Alex grew up in a FAKE society where Plastic Hearts Rule.  “Plastic hearts are made so they cannot be broken.  Cracked maybe, but never broken. They made decisions based on outward appearances and ignored all emotion.”  That was applied to all aspects of Alex’s life, even her relationships.

Alex wanted the type of love that she could feel from head to toe, the type of love where she felt every kiss deep down in the pit of her stomach.  The type of love where the mere mention of his name made her smile from ear to ear and ignited a passion within her so strong that even on the worst days, their love was better than any other love around them.

Upon returning to NYU from her Christmas break in The Hamptons, Alex decides she needs a night out dancing with her college roommate/bestfriend, Jade.  While engrossed in the music, and dancing to the beat, a pair of hands grip her hips and she felt a large hard body pressed up against hers.  Little did Alex know, these hands were not her boyfriend, Ryan's, rather they belonged to a 'Sexy Stranger" with a fabulous body, a pair of electric green eyes and a cocky smile.

This “Sexy Stranger” was Dane Wright.  Dane was everything that her parents told her to stay away from.  Dane did not “fit” the type of man that Alex’s parents had expected her to date or marry one day.  Dane was not one of the “elite” from Greenwich, CT where Alex grew up.   There was just something about Alex that Dane was drawn to.  Maybe it was the fact that Alex was the first girl to say she wasn’t interested in him.

Dane usually ran from relationships, he never allowed himself to get close to people.  Dane couldn’t avoid what was already there between he and Alex, and for the first time in his life, he was just going to allow himself to feel…. Was is fate that brought the two of them together than night in the club?

Alex had felt more love with Dane that she had ever felt in her entire life.  She had experienced more in life with Dane in the few months they were dating, then she had in her 19 years of living.  Dane showed Alex a side of herself that she didn’t know existed.  Dane accepted the “real” Alex.

Throughout the book, Alex struggles with doing what her heart tells her to do or living the life that her parents expect her to live.

Alex was backed into a corner and faced the worst kind of choice.  Cave in to those who think Dane is a living nightmare and not worthy of her… or hold her ground and risk EVERYTHING for the one man that she can not live without.

            *  Will Alex let love change her life?
           *   Dane was the half that made Alex whole, but would Alex allow
                herself to become whole?

           *   Is it true that LOVE can conquer ALL?
Dane Wright is wise beyond his years.  I think the two most important things I will take away from this book, are the following quotes from Dane:

“Sometimes when life hits you with too much, it makes you stronger and you learn from it.  I know where I want to go while some of my friends don’t.  Life has brought me maturity.  I make my decisions based on who I don’t want to be, rather than whom everyone else wants me to be.  I always want to be better.  It  took me time to see this, but it’s true.”

“We’re adults now, Baby.  When you become an adult, you get to choose your path.  You take all the things you learned while you were on everyone else’s and use it to build your own, but it’s about where your heart wants to go.  It’s all up to you.”

I have to say that I completely fell in love with Dane Wright.  He is such a sweetheart and wants nothing more than to see Alex live the life she chooses.  The love he has for Alex is undeniable.  My heart broke for Alex to see her struggle with the fact that her family would never accept the man she loves.

Life is a series of choices and every choice has a consequence.  You only live life ONCE, so make the choices you make COUNT !!!!  Always follow your heart. Live life with NO regrets as it can all be taken away in a blink of an eye.

I give this book 5 stars and I recommend this book to others.  I look forward to reading  more of Dane and Alex's story as it continues in Glass Hearts in the Summer 2013.

Love by Design Review by Elizabeth James

Love By Design (Design #1)

Synopsis: Callie Brandon wasn't looking for love; it always ended up at the feet of someone else. But when a sexy architect sets his determined, baby blue eyes on her, she starts to believe maybe life has designed her very own "happily ever after".

This is this Elizabeth’s first book and she has outdone herself. I can only expect the best for her second book. The way the book was written (first person), made me feel as if I was a part of the story. Elizabeth hooks you in from the very first chapter. The story line kept me so engaged, I was not able to put the book down. I was filled with lots of emotions while reading this book: sadness, anger, annoyance, happy; humor and at the end leaving me satisfied.

I instantly fell for Justin. Justin is a confident, handsome, very sweet man who is very successful and owns his own firm. While Callie sees herself as just someone very plain and can only dream of owning her own firm someday, just like her father.

Justin’s dad tries to play matchmaker placing them to first meet at the Annual Architect’s Conference. Neither was looking for a relationship, but fate had its own plans. There was an instant attraction between the two of them, leaving Callie confused since she’s never felt that before. Both not wanting for the conference to end, they must go their separate ways. With their busy schedules and a distance in cities, they resort to getting to know each other over the phone, text messages, and a random date or two. He seems to bring out a side of her that she’s not all too familiar with. He makes her feel confident and seeing herself in a different light. Her love life seems to be taking off well, while her work life seems to take a turn and go a completely different H

In addition, Callie’s parents and neighbor bring a lot of humor; you have the self-centered, spoiled, so called best friend who feels that everything revolves around her; and then you have her secretary and her partner who are a completely different story.

“I think I loved you before I met you.” ~ Justin

Love at first sight does not happens in just books, it happens in real life as well. Justin actually says he fell in love with her before he met her; just from the things his father mentioned about her. There was a lot of miscommunication/assumption done by the characters; which in turn made me very upset. The roller coaster of events definitely caused a lot of forehead slapping moments. But as well all know, that's real life. We sometimes get thrown on that roller coaster, get sucked into a lot miscommunication, but all we can do is ride it out till we get to the end. The end result being the way you handle these situations.

If you haven't yet, buy and read this book! Job well done Elizabeth, can't wait till the second book! Look for her second book, Life by Design releasing March 15th~~Jenn

Expected publication: March 22, 2013

REVIEW ==> "PLAY WITH ME" by Kristen Proby

5 STARS !!!!!!!!!!

I am a HUGE fan of Kristen Proby.  I thought Luke was amazing in Come Away With Me.  When I read Fight With Me, Nate was just too hot to handle.  I didn’t think anyone could top Nate with his tattoos and infamous “apa” piercing.  Well, I was wrong…  Will Montgomery takes the cake in Play With Me…. This book is AMAZING !!!
Will Montgomery has it all.  He is a successful quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, has the perfect body, is absolutely gorgeous, has a beautiful home and a great family.  The only thing he doesn’t have is a love interest.  Will is the perfect alpha male!!  He is dominant when needed, yet a complete sweetheart.  I think Will is the perfect man !!

Then we have Megan McBride who is a pediatric cancer nurse at Seattle Children's Hospital.  Megan is self sufficient, strong willed, speaks her mind and has serious issues with trust.  Megan attended college with Jules and Natalie, Will’s sisters.  It has been a few years since Megan has seen Jules, until one day she stumbles into a burger joint in Seattle and sees Jules and Will sitting at a table.  Immediately Will is attracted to Megan, but Megan wouldn’t give him the time of day.  In her eyes, he is a complete ass and is not impressed with his star football status.

Will is determined to show Megan that he is not the pompous ass that she assumes him to be. Will does not take NO very lightly.  There is definitely chemistry between the two and Megan can not deny her attraction to Will.

Megan has trust issues and has built a wall around her heart. The question is, will
Will Montgomery be able to brake down that wall??  Megan affiliates love with losing.  Everyone that Megan has ever loved has left her.  Will Megan allow herself to love Will?

I fell in love with Will immediately.  Will’s love for Megan is undeniable. He will do anything for Megan.  For the first time in a long time, Will was protective over a woman that was not related to him.  “How did she become my whole world in such a short amount of time?  My God, I’d do anything for her.”

Megan and Will have a genuine connection.  I loved how Kristen portrayed Will as a great guy, who was an athlete and had values as opposed to having Will be a manwhore.  I felt as though, I was standing on the side lines waving my pom poms routing for Will and Megan.

Play With Me had me crying at times as well as laughing out loud.  There is one particular scene where the girls are drunk and I was hysterical laughing.  You'll have to read the book, to find out what scene I am talking about.  I won't give ya any spoilers.
If you love an alpha male, then you are going to LOVE Will Montgomery.  Megan had a dominant personality as well.  Megan will have you in stitches with her sense of humor.  I love how all of Kristen’s women in her books are strong willed and speak their minds and are not meek and timid.

If you have not read this series, I suggest you do IMMEDIATELY !!!!  Kristen Proby has hit the ball out of the park with this one.  She amazes me with every book that she writes.  I look forward to reading each book as she publishes them !!!  I can not wait to see what she has in store for the rest of the Montgomery brothers, Luke’s brother Mark and his sister, Sam.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

Will Montgomery is a successful professional football player and seemingly has it all. He’s not used to being told no, and certainly doesn’t take no for an answer. So when he turns his charms on his sister’s sexy rocker-chick friend Meg, he’s not only turned down, but met with open hostility, piquing his curiosity and libido. He’s determined to show her that he’s not the arrogant jock she thinks he is, and to get her into his bed.

Megan McBride is not impressed with Will Montgomery, his fat contract, fancy car, or his arrogant public persona. She doesn’t have time for a relationship, and if she’s learned anything in life, it’s that loving means losing, so she guards her heart ferociously. But she can’t deny the overwhelming attraction to the sexy, tattooed athlete, and when Will starts breaking down her defenses and grabs hold of her heart, will she be able to admit her feelings for him, or will her troubled past cause her to lose the first man she’s ever truly loved?

Play With Me is the 3rd book in the With Me In Seattle Series.

KATIE ASHLEY released the revamped cover for Music of the Heart to be released in March! This one is going to be HOT!

For Abby Renard, the plan was supposed to be simple—join her brothers’ band on the last leg of their summer tour and decide if she’s finally ready for the limelight by becoming its fourth member. Of course, she never imagined stumbling onto the wrong tour bus at Rock Nation would accidentally land her in the bed of Jake Slater, the notorious womanizing lead singer of Runaway Train. When he mistakes her for one of his groupie’s, Abby quickly lets him know she sure as hell isn't in his bed on purpose.

Jake Slater never imagined the angel who fell into his bed would resist his charms by promptly kneeing him in the balls. Of course, the fact she seems like a prissy choir girl makes her anything but his type. So he is more than surprised when after betting Abby she wouldn’t last a week on their tour bus, she is more than willing to prove him wrong. But as Jake’s personal life begins to implode around him, he finds an unlikely ally in Abby. He’s never met a woman he can talk to, joke with, or most importantly make music with.

As the week starts comes to a close, neither Abby nor Jake is ready to let go. Can a sweetheart Country songstress and a bad boy of Rock N Roll actually have a future together?

Trish, Just Trish is Book #2 in the series, This Can't Be Happening
Patricia Grace Kincaid is haunted by her past and no matter what she does, the ghosts won’t stay away. A childhood incident nearly ruined her life. A mistake that she made two years ago ripped her to shreds. She isn’t the same feisty, fearless bitch she used to be… or is she?

What will happen when the person she screwed over storms back into her life? She freaks. Is it for the reason she’s always hoped for… that Tony Lopez, the breathtakingly sexy Latin love of her life, has finally decided to forgive her? Hell no. Will he demand her complete submission? Yes. Will he make her life hell? Double yes. Will she, in return, torture him? Hell-to-the-yes. Will her past come back to haunt her? Absolutely.
I just came up with it. Probably needs tweaking, but I'll fix it before I publish. Too busy re-reading and double checking...

Author’s warning: Including, but not limited to: a deep, dark childhood, lots and lots of cussing (as in, A LOT), a ton of fighting, maybe hair pulling, a bitch with a vulnerable side, and last, but not least, ├╝ber possessive, over obsessive, crazy hot alpha males on the verge of needing therapy… and maybe a tear or two.
IF YOU HAVE NOT READ LEXI, BABY (This Can't Be Happening), I SUGGEST YOU DO !!!!!

Jack and Lexi never had a typical relationship. After 2 years without speaking, she receives a phone call that changes everything. Follow Lexi in this heart wrenching drama as she relives her past relationship, or lack thereof, with Jack, and not just in her own mind, but to his fiance-to-be. Throw in Bekah's hot brother who always seems to be in the right place at the right time, a past with more secrets to unravel than you can even imagine, and you get a recipe for disaster. Find out what happens to Lexi as she travels to Atlanta to get the closure she so desperately desires from Jack, and how the bumps of life seem to keep getting in the way.

Release: March 2013

Be smart.
Keep your head down.
And look out for number one.

These are the rules Jay has lived by for the past two years. The rules of surviving life on the streets. But when Em comes bursting into his life, in all of her disastrous glory, the rules go right out the window.

Flee what’s been left behind.
And never look back.

Emerson’s plan was simple. Though, it was easier said than done. The city streets are dangerous and unforgiving to a new arrival. Especially, a seventeen-year-old girl who’s never known anything but life in the suburbs. Sometimes, however, what’s lurking behind those white picket fences can be more frightening than any dark alley.

Both of them made the same decision when life got overwhelming—to run from their demons. Brought together by fate or circumstance, Em and Jay find the kind of love neither of them ever expected. But, when those demons come back to haunt them and their love is on the line, which instincts will they choose to follow this time . . . Fight or Flight?

Chase Walker used to be a good kid—charming, athletic, and with a bright future ahead, but that was before travesty struck his life, sinking him into deep despair. Caught up in a world of drugs and alcohol, he doesn’t notice time slipping away until he’s arrested for underage drinking one night.

Fed up with watching her son destroy his life, Chase’s mom relocates him to live in a small ranching community with his ex-military grandfather. Chase is far from happy about the situation until he meets, Nikki, the cute cheerleader who won’t give football players like him the time of day.

Chase enjoys a good challenge though and sets out to claim Nikki for his own. He soon discovers she’s more than a pretty face—she’s a balm to his troubled spirit also. But when tragedy strikes Nikki’s life too, suddenly Chase finds himself put to the ultimate test. Can he trust Nikki, and all that she’s taught him? Will it be enough?

I have to say that when I first started the book I was a little hesitant. I thought because it was based around teenagers that I would not like it considering I'm 34 yrs old.. Oh, I was SO WRONG!! Chasing Nikki definitely pulls at the strings to your heart. Chase didn't know how to cope with the loss of his father, so he turned to alcohol and drugs to help cope with the pain... Then one day, he sees a beautiful girl named, Nikki and he vowed that he was going to get this girl to go on a date with him.  Chase has the reputation of a punk and Nikki is the good girl, so he definitely had his work cut out for him.  Little did Chase know that Nikki would change his life forever by just saying one simple word, YES!!! This book will have you laughing one minute and crying the next. I was very glad that I chose to read this book, and I give it 5 stars !!!

Finally, the highly anticipated follow-up to the New York Times bestseller Beautiful Disaster.

Can you love someone too much?

Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder.

In Walking Disaster, the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. But just when he thinks he is invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees.

Every story has two sides. In Beautiful Disaster, Abby had her say. Now it’s time to see the story through Travis’s eyes.

Chase, she loves you. You aren’t nothing to her, she’s just confused. She doesn’t know what to do, her boyfriend is coming back and she just admitted to his best friend that she’s in love with him too and lost her v-card to him. She’s probably freaking out. If she said she needs a few weeks, then give the girl a few weeks. But don’t just leave her, Chach.”

I snorted at her nickname for me, “Do you think this is all one big game to her?”

“No way. If it was, she wouldn’t have a problem leaving you.”

Just before I could ask how Marissa was sure she wouldn’t, the worst sound in the world sounded over the running water of the shower. “Fuck.”

“What? What happened?!”

“I can hear her crying.” I ran a hand through my hair and grabbed a fistful as I pushed off the wall, “I gotta go to her, Marissa.”

“Damn straight you do! This is just as hard for her, probably harder because she’s the one that has to choose.”

I stumbled halfway up the steps at that, “I don’t know what I’ll do if she chooses him.” I said honestly, “I need her.”

“I know, Chach.”

“Gotta go, thanks Riss.” We said goodbye and I tossed the phone on my bed that just this morning had been a major part of my favorite moment in my life, and now I was afraid would only ever be a memory.

I opened the door to my steam-filled bathroom and the pained sobs that filled the room pierced my chest.

Oh, Princess.

Harper was holding herself up against the tile wall when I stepped in behind her and I didn’t know how my heart could break any more. Grabbing around her waist, I turned her toward me and pressed her close to my body as hers shook with hard sobs. The thought of losing Harper had tears falling down my face for the second time this morning – before today, I couldn’t remember the last time I’d cried. But after last night, I didn’t know how I was supposed to go through life without her. I gripped her harder to me when her sobs quieted, and looked down at her puffy red eyes when her head titled back to look up at me.

She looked at me for what felt like hours before speaking, her voice rough and scratchy from crying, “Why are you in here?”

Where else would I be? My whole world was crashing down and I was trying to hold on to it for as long as possible. “Because you need me, and if this is my last hour with you, I'm not going to waste another second of it.”

I'm getting EXCITED for the release of SAVED on March 30th.

IN HONOR OF STEALING HARPER BEING RELEASED ON JUNE 4th, I feel the need to share some of my favorite quotes from CHASE from TAKING CHANCES by the AMAZING MOLLY McADAMS !!!
"Well, well. If it isn't the princess."

My body tensed and I frowned when I saw him approaching. Narrowing my eyes, I plastered on a fake smile. "I almost didn't recognize you without a tramp attached to you."

Drew and the other guy snickered.

Leaning into my ear he harshly whispered, "Would you like to change that? I'm not up to my limit tonight yet."

Gah, why did he have to be so hot? My body was practically humming with how close he was. I leaned away and replied with the most innocent expression on my face, "Oh I'm sorry, but I don't have any STDs, I'm not your type."  ~~ Chase and Harper

"Harper, I love you more than I could ever explain. Meeting you changed my world. Even when I thought you could never be mine, I couldn't continue to live a life I knew you hated. The night you told me you loved me was the best night of my life, up until tonight. I never want to let you go again, I want to be with you for the rest of my life. I want to marry you someday Harper." He paused and searched my eyes, "I would do anything for you. I don't know what to do to make you believe me, but I'll spend forever trying to show you."  ~~ Chase
