Midnight Rescue by Elle Kennedy

Midnight Rescue (Killer Instincts #1)

Dangerous. Ruthless. Savage. And she's the good guy.
Abby Sinclair had a desperate childhood until she was rescued and adopted by a retired army ranger who molded her into a master of self-defense. Now, she's a cunning and fearless assassin thrust into assignment after dangerous assignment, using everything she has-nerve, resilience, strength, sex-to come out on top. Her only rule: trust no one.
Abby's latest assignment is in Columbia: go undercover and snuff out a dangerous arms dealer active in the underground sex trade. But when Abby purposely blows her cover in a last-ditch attempt to free the helpless victims, deadly mercenary Kane Woodland is recruited as back-up. His mission: get Abby out of that hell hole.

The last thing Kane expects is to feel a primal attraction for Abby. But when she convinces him to join her on her perilous mission, their newfound passion could put the lives of their whole team at risk.

REVIEW:

What happens when you are so broken you feel nothing then suddenly you have purpose and your in the midst of being involved with some of the most dangerous people in the world.  People your on the job to kill. People who are psychopaths people who have no regard for human life. You got it right you blow your cover and get caught on purpose because your so confident even with being beaten down you can serve your purpose and save 12 little girls who are about to be sold as sex slaves.

Meet Abby Sinclair, she is a chameleon and she kills for a living. She had a horrendous childhood until she was adopted by a honorable Marine who took her in after killing her foster father. He taught her everything she knows which has allowed her to rid the world of dangerous people.

When she is caught Noelle her hard nosed boss knows the only person who can help her is Morgan and his crew. Morgan's right hand man is Kane and he puts Kane in charge of Abby's care. They meet and neither understand the attraction. Abby is mad as hell at them for rescuing her. She needs to get back and save those girls.

Through so much planning, avoiding the psychopath Devlin and so much in between Kane makes the rescue happen. In between he falls for Abby and she falls for him but she just can't let someone in she doesn't trust she relies on herself and only herself. And in doing this she may lose Kane.

In the story the romance is 2nd, this story is of a mission and 2 groups of amazing selfless hardass men and women who will do anything for the good of their missions. The series continues with all of the me having their own books but they are interwoven and the series should be read in order.

I will definitely read the rest of the series and I give this book a solid 4 stars. The only reason not 5 is I feel the first 40% was a little slow but I will admit in the end when I was done I get it, it's the first in a series with many characters that needed to be introduced and that takes some time. But it's definitely something I'd recommend to people who love suspense with some romance.
