WITHOUT YOU (Love Wanted in Texas Series, Book #1) by Kelly Eliott

SYNOPSIS:

Alex and Will have spent months keeping their relationship hidden from their families. Getting caught prematurely causes them to admit their love for each other to their parents.

One decision made by Alex's father changes her entire world, shattering her plans for the future. Alex always thought Will was the very air she breathed, but life has a way of causing doubts for the one thing she thought was absolute…their love.

Can Will's promise to Alex be enough for her to hold on to or will she find herself moving down a different path that she never imagined for herself?

Without You is book one in the Love Wanted in Texas series.

REVIEW:

Without You is the first book in the Love Wanted in Texas Series.  This series focuses on the kids from the Wanted Series all grown up.   Alex Mathews has been in love with Will Hayes for as long as she can remember.  When the two of them finally admit their feelings to each other, they keep it a secret from their parents.  That was until one day, Alex's father, Gunner stumbles upon a make out session in his barn.

Gunner and Ellie want the best for their daughter.  They want her to experience all of the things in like that they didn't.  They want the best for Alex and that means attending college. Alex would be perfectly happy living the life on the ranch as her mother does. When that isn't an option, Alex has visions of attending Texas A&M, but her parents have a different vision, which entails her heading off to The University of Texas (UT).  Alex is upset that her parents won't allow her to attend Texas A&M, where her cousin Luke attends and where Will will be heading off to in September.  Gunner wants Alex to experience the whole "college" life.  Alex only knows life on the ranch and in Mason.  Her father wants her to experience life in the big city, the only problem is, that isn't the life that Alex wants for herself.  When her father plants doubt in her mind about her relationship with Will, Alex's mind won't stop spinning.  If Will and her attend different universities, will their relationship work?  Is Will the one for Alex? Will their relationship survive the distance placed between them?  Is their love strong enough to get them through this?

When Will attends Texas A&M, he was going to do whatever it took to make sure that he got his studies completed and spent time with Alex.  Will always made sure that Alex knew how strong his love for her was, and that she had nothing to worry about while they were apart. But sometimes outside circumstances can play a part in how relationship play out. Communication is always a key factor, so when the two of them "think" they know something and they don't communicate with each other, things can be totally misunderstood and cause a downward effect.  There are a few twists in this story and I was frustrated, but I have to remind myself, they are eighteen (18).  We know what it is to be eighteen years old. We learn from our mistakes and that is what makes up into the mature adults we are today. (lol)

Relationships are hard no matter what age we are.  This stands true for Will and Alex.  The two of them need to rely on their love for each and trust in that love. I think my favorite parts in the book were the walks that Alex and her grandmother took every morning.  The life lessons and helpful insights that Emma would give Alex, were so heart warming.   I enjoyed seeing the kids from the Wanted Series all grown up.  In Without You, Kelly Elliott laid out the foundation of all of the characters, so we can expect that each of the kids will have their own book in this series.   I look forward to seeing what the future holds for all of the kids.  Luke better grow a set and step up to the plate and earn Libby's love.
