MORE by CLARE JAMES

MORE (Before You Go #2)

SYNOPSIS:

One summer.
One chance to forget the past.
One opportunity to make things right.

There’s no denying the heat between Jules Taylor and Foster Sutton. They are two wild souls with a fire burning inside. Together, they create a hot and dangerous mix of emotion and lust.

But after a terrible accident leaves one friend dead, Foster is bound by a secret that keeps him from getting closer to Jules. And he’s left with only one thing to offer her – friendship.

For Jules, her relationship with Foster is getting old. He falls down and she picks him up, but they never move forward. Their occasional hook-ups are no longer enough, and Jules vows that this is her summer to forget Foster and find love. If it were only that easy.

It seems fate is pushing Jules and Foster together at every turn. And it’s only a matter of time before they give up and give in.

MORE is the highly anticipated companion story to BEFORE YOU GO. It can also be read as a stand-alone book.

REVIEW:

MORE is the 2nd book in the Before You Go series.   I fell in love with Jules in Before You Go.  She was trustworthy, caring, outspoken and she was the only friend that Tabby had. Every girl needs a JULES in their life...

Jules, Foster, Noah and Jenna have been friends since high school.  Freshman year in college Jules and Foster were dating and Noah and Jenna were dating.  Foster is keeping a HUGE secret from Jules, however everyone else knows the secret. A tragic accident occurs and Jenna's younger brother is killed.  The accident caused a separation between the group; everyone blamed themselves for the accident.  Everyone has handled their guilt differently.
Their friendships are strained to say the least.

Jules and Foster have always had feelings for each other.  Their relationship is rather complicated.  Jules loves Foster, but she has grown tired of his ways.  Jules wants MORE than what Foster is willing to give her.  Foster is a total ladies man, and has had a revolving door of women in his left since the two of them were together.  Even though Jules and Foster aren't dating anymore, Jules is still in love with him.  Foster has Jules' heart, even if it is shattered into a million pieces.

"We never move forward.  We never get back to that place we were before the accident.  Before everything went to hell." ~ Jules

Foster loves Jules and knows that she deserves the best.  Jules deserves better than what he can offer her.  Foster wears a mask to hide from the world.  He doesn't allow too many people know the "real" Foster.  Jules that gets a glimpse of the "real" Foster every once in a while. Foster is afraid to tell her what he has been keeping from her because he knows she will hate him for it.  Foster NEEDS Jules in his life.  Foster knows he is being selfish by not being honest with Jules.  He tries to keep Jules at a distance but she is always in arms reach.  Foster knows if he tells her the truth, he will lose her from his life and ultimately lose his best friend.  If Foster tells Jules the secret he has been keeping from her, will she be able to forgive him?  Can Foster and Jules move past this?

"Lying by omission. I know that's what I'm doing with Jules.  I should tell her, I should've told her years ago.  I convinced myself that if never came up in conversation; Jules never accused me of anything or even asked for that matter, so I wasn't lying.  If she had asked me point blank, I would've told her.  I would've told her everything.  This is how I justify it." ~ Foster

Jules is injured and an opportunity arises.  Foster volunteers to take care of Jules for two weeks while Tabby goes home to see her family.  Foster wants to spend as much time with Jules as possible.   Can Foster be the guy that Jules knows he can be?  Will Foster tell Jules how he feels?  Will Foster stop this charade and finally tell Jules what he was been keeping from her?

Both Jules and Foster are afraid to tell each other how they feel for fear of rejection.  So instead of telling each other how they truly feel, they come up with an idea.  They will be friends "with benefits".  Can the two of them have this type of relationship and leave their hearts at the door?  Will this "relationship" continue after the two weeks?  Will they eventually be honest with each other?

Things between Foster and Jules seem to be going well, that is until a little certain somebody decides to tell Jules what Foster has been keeping from her.  To say the shit hits the fan is an understatement.  Jules feels betrayed by Foster.  Jules is angry because the people who she trusted the most, knew what Foster was keeping from her and they never told her.  Can she get past this? Can she forgive Foster?  Can she forgive her friends?

Foster can be a total sweetheart when he wants to be.  Yes, he was a douche bag, and yes he deserved a couple smacks across the back of his head for the things he did to Jules, but I had to remind myself that he is your average 22 year old MALE.  Everyone makes mistakes.  The question is, are all mistakes forgivable?

Once Foster opened up, we got to see the "real" Foster and I fell in love with him.  He LOVES Jules with all of his heart, he just needed to be honest with her and pray that she would forgive him.  I am a firm believer of HONESTY.

"This picture makes me feel love because this was the first girl I met when I moved to the Cities and she was my first real friend.  She was also my first love, my first heartbreak--.

I've hung on to this picture for six years.  I look at it when I wake up and before I go to bed.  But I don't want this picture anymore.  I want the real thing." ~ Foster

I enjoyed reading this book and watching the relationship between Foster and Jules.  It is evident that there is chemistry between Foster and Jules.  The sparks fly right off of the pages.  I loved how we got a little more of Noah and Tabby in this book as well.

This review was prepared by Heather.
I received an ARC for an honest review.
