BABY DADDY by Kendall Ryan

A hot and hilarious new standalone from New York Times bestseller Kendall Ryan.

We met in a trapped elevator.

Emmett was on his way to work, sophisticated and handsome in his tailored suit and tie. I was on my way to the sperm bank. Awkward, right? At thirty-five, my life hadn’t taken the path I thought it would and I was tired of waiting—I wanted a baby. And I was ready to take matters into my own hands to make it happen. After our ill-fated elevator encounter, Emmett insisted on taking me to dinner—he also insisted on something else—that I ditch my plan involving a turkey baster and let him do the job. He would be my baby daddy. He was a wealthy and powerful CEO with little interest in diapers or playdates. And since he didn’t want kids, I’d be on my own once his bun was in my oven, free to go my own way. But once his baby was inside me, it was like a switch had been flipped, and I got a whole lot more than I ever bargained for. This full-length standalone contains a hot, swoonworthy hero, lots of playful banter and some hot baby-making ! Enjoy.

REVIEW BY KELLY:

At 35, Jenna has done many things in life except for the one thing she wants the most. She wants a baby and she hasn't exactly been successful in the dating department because she's spent her life focused on business. She's made up her mind and decided to go the clinic route. On her way, fate intervenes in the form of a stuck elevator and the sexiest man she's ever laid her eyes on. Then she's floored...his offer to wine and dine her, to be the donor, her baby daddy is something she never expected. He claims to be a workaholic, only caring about his business. He would help and then I would be on my own, exactly what I want. But then we take that step and things change again. What I want changed. Why did I even sign on for this?

Emmett is pure sex on a stick. Successful, hot and knows what he wants in life, or so he thinks. His parents have skewed his view on love and relationships and he knows for a fact that being a CEO could never mix with having a relationship that works, so why even bother. When he meets Jenna, he wants her. What better way to get what he wants than to help her with what she wants too? But then the world tilts on its axis. Jenna is independent, successful, beautiful, intelligent and fun. She's fun. He enjoys spending time with her even outside of the bedroom. He starts longing for her voice, her presence and not just so he can sink inside her. But they had an agreement, he can't go back on that. How humiliating would it be to admit that he's starting to have feelings for her if she doesn't reciprocate them. No, he will just enjoy it for as long as it lasts.

The intensity of the attraction in this story had me fanning my face after feeling the heat creep up my body. Kennedy captured the connection and instant lust perfectly. We watched the connection of emotions slowly form throughout the story, the friendship, the bond that builds when you truly meld with someone else was fantastic. The fall hit exactly where it should. Just when you've started to open up, to trust, to hope for something more than what you already have, its yanked aggressively from your fingertips. Coming back together is the only option because of the realization that life only makes sense with that other person apart of it. Having him show up and confess what really happened and how hard he's fallen. "I can still barely believe that Jenna's given me this precious second chance." we get to see inside his thoughts and how much she has come to mean to him, the perpetual bachelor, the one night stand guy who never needed anything more. It's swoon-worthy. This book leaves you feeling complete and that love is worth it and really out there's for those who fight for it.

I was given an advanced copy for my honest review.
