Review:
Christine has always been in love with her best friend’s
brother since she can remember, but she has always kept that secret to herself,
even from Kady. One night so many years ago during a breakdown, she gave
herself up to Tyler. It was a night Christine will never forget. But one that
Tyler will live to regret every day after. She has tried her best to move on
with her life, but her walls have been put up. A part of her heart will always
belong to Tyler. Although she has not seen him in years, she has always tried
to keep updates from Kady.
Tyler has been away from his family, living his life as a
doctor helping the less fortunate in other countries. He has regretted what he did to Christine all
those years ago since he had no right to take advantage of her then. Most
especially, he regrets walking away from her and leaving her more vulnerable
than when her first found her. As much as he would like to continue to avoid
her, Christine and Tyler are forced together when his sister Kady has a
destination wedding they both have no choice but to attend.
When she sees Tyler, his presence both shocks her and
frustrates her at the same time. He has grown in to a fine looking specimen,
but yet, she still can’t let go of what him did. The way he looks at her, it’s
as if he wants a piece of her. The girls have always gotten on her case about
not having fun and that she should escape her world of books and experience
life. Christine’s original intentional was to use this trip to let loose a
little and tackle a list that she has, but seeing Tyler there, makes her
motives change a little. Maybe she can use this time to get some kind of
revenge on him. How would it feel to want something so bad to only have it vanish
before your eyes?
Tyler plans to do everything he can to make it up to
Christine. He wants to get to know her again, get close to her. They felt right
together then, how would it feel if they get together now? Just by the way they
look at each other, even from across the room, you can see the attraction they
have towards one another, or even when they’re near each other. There is
definitely some physical connection between the two of them.
Christine gets the brilliant idea to seduce Tyler, to use
him to check off part of his list. That will definitely pay him back for
walking out on her. But Tyler is very persistent in what he wants. If he wants,
he will get it and he wants Christine and he will stop at nothing until he gets
her. Every time he advances with her and gets her right where he wants her, she
ends up taking two steps back, making him wonder what her motives are. When he
steps his game up and gets more aggressive with his pursuits, she can’t help
but get caught in the game she’s playing. I mean how can she not? Tyler is a
hot doctor who wants her and will stop at nothing until he gets her, and damn
he has a dirty mouth. She’s slowly falling under his spell again and if she
keeps at this game she keeps playing, her heart might end up right where it was
all those years ago.
Will Tyler be able to bring down the walls that Christine
has put up? Will Christine be able to go through with her plan and seduce Tyler
for revenge? Will she get caught up in her plan? Will Tyler get tired of
playing games with her and leave, again? Will Christine only end up hurting
herself in the end?
Diane does a great job with this hot and spicy novella. She
got me hooked from the very beginning that I was able to finish very quickly.
The connection between Christine and Tyler can be felt while reading the book
and hot damn is he a hottie. I love how she adds the stories of the other
friends in there making me want to find out their stories as well. Great job
Diane.
