My Review:

Haven from the Storm is to be released March 30th.

I received Haven from the Storm by Sarah Dosher, compliments from the author for my honest review.

I was instantly hooked to this book, right from the Prologue. Author Sarah Dosher does such a wonderful job with the details that I was completely engaged in this book and was not able to put it down.

Lily has experienced more heartache and loss than anyone in her town is known to. Her mother and brother died. Her father is an abusive and resentful alcoholic. The only person she’s ever given her heart to, bailed when she needed him the most. Despite all that, she has proven to be such a strong, independent person, practically raising herself since the age of 14.

Dean’s first instinct when situations get tough is to run, run away far and fast. With both parents gone, he only has the support of his grandmother who raised him. Going off to college, he tries to escape his past and make a future for himself.  He finally realizes that running away is only a short term escape, not a solution, and most of all he cannot run away from his past forever. He is slowly facing his demons, but it’s proving that it may be too late.

Dean’s grandmother Violet tries to play matchmaker and tries to get them back together again. Can Dean and Lily salvage whatever relationship they had four years ago? Lily’s father has a different idea. He has some kind of vendetta against Dean and his family, that he threatens Dean and Lily’s future. Will they be able to stay away from each other or will the strong connection they have keep them together? Will love prevail in this situation? You will not only fall in love with Dean and Lily, you will practically fall in love with Grandma Violet. She seems to be the grandmother everyone wants around. Adley and Derek, Lily and Dean’s friends, bring lots of humor to the book and they also show the true meaning of friendship.

My emotions ran wild straight from the beginning. I’m not going to lie; you are definitely in for some big heartbreaking moments, which will leave you feeling very frustrated at times, maybe even angry. Don’t get me wrong, there are many happy and satisfying parts in the book; just be prepared for the rollercoaster of emotions! The way Sarah wrote the book, I felt like I was there living everything that Lily went through. I was feeling every feeling and emotion poured into the book, and I actually felt like I was a part of Lily. I really do look forward to reading more books from Sarah. ~~ Jennelyn
