Broken Knight by L.J. Shen

SYNOPSIS:

From USA Today and Washington Post bestselling author L.J. Shen comes a new, standalone romance about first loves, betrayal and loss.

Not all love stories are written the same way. Ours had torn chapters, missing paragraphs, and a bittersweet ending.

Luna Rexroth is everyone’s favorite wallflower.
Sweet.
Caring.
Charitable.
Quiet.
Fake.
Underneath the meek, tomboy exterior everyone loves (yet pities) is a girl who knows exactly what, and who, she wants—namely, the boy from the treehouse who taught her how to curse in sign language.
Who taught her how to laugh.
To live.
To love.

Knight Cole is everyone’s favorite football hero.
Gorgeous.
Athletic.
Rugged.
Popular.
Liar.
This daredevil hell-raiser could knock you up with his gaze alone, but he only has eyes for the girl across the street: Luna.
But Luna is not who she used to be. She doesn’t need his protection anymore.
When life throws a curveball at All Saints’ golden boy, he’s forced to realize not all knights are heroes.
Sometimes, the greatest love stories flourish in tragedy.

REVIEW by Heather D:

Where do I begin?  Throughout this book, I myself, was left broken while witnessing the hurt, Luna experienced with Knight.

Knight and Luna have had a special bond since they were toddlers. Luna was a select mute. After experiencing a tragic event in her life, she chose not to speak. However, Knight always knew what Luna wanted, what she needed, and what she was feeling, without a work ever being spoken.

While Knight had a reputation of a lady’s man to upkeep, that façade took a piece of Luna’s heart each time she witnessed it.  With college acceptance pending on the horizon, Knights fears she will go away, leave the comfort of her home, the comfort of their friendship. While Luna was on the fence on deciding where to go, a little push from a mutual close friend, changes the course of her relationship with Knight.

While both Luna and Knight struggle being apart from each other, they both continue to live their lives the best they can. Cherishing the moments they speak, the moments they see each other. But everything changes when Luna makes a choice that will affect her life and Knight’s as well.

Luna and Knight’s relationship is captivating. When push comes to shove, will they make their way back to each other, or will decisions they’ve made, keep them apart?
Broken Knight is by far a breathtaking, heartbreakingly, beautiful story about best friends who love each other, yet fear loving each other will ruin them.

Buckle your seat belts, because Broken Knight will take you on an emotional ride, leaving you raw, and wanting more.
