The Girl  Her Ren is a book that I never wanted to end. In fact, I took my time reading it, so I could prolong it!  This was the first series of Pepper Winters I read. From the beginning, the author takes you on a journey of two souls that are meant to be together. They are each other's worlds. Ren raised Della since she was one years old. Throughout the years, they have both grown. Della idolized Ren, he was her hero. As we know, in The Boy & His Ribbon, the ending sent Ren on his own journey separate from Della. Della's actions pushed him to leave. 

Ren always wanted the best for Della.  But when he left, it only hurt her more. They were each missing apart of themselves. Della held Ren's heart, and Ren held hers. This is a series that EVERYONE should read. The love the two of them had for each other was one that we wish we would find in a lifetime. 

Della and Ren did not have an easy life.  Always looking over their shoulders, keeping themselves invisible from the world, and portraying themselves as brother and sister. But what happens when their feelings become too much for them to handle. When their relationship is not so simple anymore. Della pushes the envelope everyday with Ren. But Ren always keeps in mind, they have an image to uphold. That's what pushes Ren away to keep Della safe. 

Like I said, the two of them never had it easy. They were fighters, survivors. This story takes you on a ride of a lifetime. It has its ups.... and it definitely has its lows. This series is one that will stay with me forever.  They experienced something that hit very close to home for me. So I understood their battle. I cried for them. I wanted to hug both of them and tell them to fight the fight. To never give up. 

Hands down, this is a five star read. Della and Ren will forever have a place in my heart.

The fallen papers crunched beneath my boot as I shifted my weight, leaning into her, seeking an answer. “Why didn’t you tell me?” She flinched, her eyes closing beneath an avalanche of pain. This hurt. Everything hurt. “Della…please.” My calloused thumbs caressed her silky-soft skin, catching on her young perfection with my older imperfection. Ten years separated us. Ten years was an eternity when she was a babe and I was a boy, but now…it no longer held such power. I refused to let it because I didn’t know what I’d do if I couldn’t touch her the way I was touching her now. She laughed quietly, full of torture and tragedy. “I did tell you.
