I devoured this book in one sitting. Church was to die for. He fits in perfectly with this group. They love you like family, they treat you like family and they look after you as if you were family.
Church doesn't have time for love. Everyone he loves, he loses. So why bother. He prefers to keep his distance from people. If he isn't around those he loves, then he can't hurt them. Well, that all changes when he realizes he has developed feelings fir Dixie.
Church has had his eyes on Dixie for quite some time. He watches her from a distance. She is safer that way. But everything changes, when Dixie makes it known that she has feelings for him. When Church is needed back home in Mississippi, he needs a favor. The only one he can turn to is Dixie.
