RELEASE DAY BLITZ ~ EGO MANIAC by Vi Keeland

  egomaniac-available-now     Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000038_00072]

The night I met Drew Jagger, he’d just broken into my new Park Avenue office. I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills. He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing.

Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant. Only, turned out, he wasn’t an intruder at all.

Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He’d been on vacation while his posh space was renovated. Which was how a scammer got away with leasing me office space that wasn’t really available for rent. I was swindled out of ten grand.

The next day, after hours at the police station, Drew took pity on me and made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. In exchange for answering his phones while his secretary was out, he’d let me stay until I found a new place. I probably should have acted grateful and kept my mouth shut when I overheard the advice he was spewing to his clients. But I couldn’t help giving him a piece of my mind. I never expected my body to react every time we argued. Especially when that was all we seemed to be able to do.

The two of us were complete opposites. Drew was a bitter, angry, gorgeous-as-all-hell, destroyer of relationships. And my job was to help people save their marriages. The only thing the two of us had in common was the space we were sharing. And an attraction that was getting harder to deny by the day.

REVIEW:

I don't know how Vi Keeland seems to do it. Every new book she produces, she tops the other ones before. It is always hard  to find a favorite book of her since the newest release always becomes the favorite. I was sad and disappointed when the book ended. I wanted more but as well know all good things must come to an end. Vi Keeland will grasp you from the very first pages and will keep your reading till the very end. Ego manic is a story full of angst, love, devotion, and it will have you laughing and wanting to punch someone at the same time.

Drew Jagger…. The title completely suits the man to a tee. Not only is he arrogant with the largest ego, he is sexy as hell and loves work way too much. Emerie Rose couldn't have been more different that he is. She’s the kindest person you will meet, who is set of helping others while being passionate at her job. Drew ends relationships, while Emerie helps put keep them together. Their views on relationships are the complete opposite. Makes you think that being near each other isn't a good thing.

With the unfortunate situation of Emerie being out of an office, Drew feels sorry for her and has her share his space. The sexual chemistry between the two are clear as day. Like.. wow.. I love the relationship that Drew and Emerie have formed. First starting as strangers then forming a close friendship. Drew was only planning to keep her around to help him out until his secretary returned. He somehow has grown a soft spot for her, though how could he not. I loved the banter between the two. It’s like they are always arguing about something, but for them, it completely works. Drew has also realized that he has a protective bone in him when he finds out her feelings for someone else. He knows he should leave her be, but there's something about Emerie that he is hooked on. And he is definitely not letting her go without a fight.

When Drew's past comes crawling back with a vengeance, Emerie is there to help him through. It definitely took me back when I found of why Drew is the way he is and why he built the walls. It isn't one that i predicted. It took Emerie some work, but she is chipping down his walls. I loved watching them grow. As hard as they try to stay away from one another, their spark is just that inevitable. You can’t but help fall more in love with them. I loved Drew and Emerie apart but together they make a stronger couple. They balance one another out and as much as they argue, it’s actually pretty comical.

When the past becomes all too much, it puts great distance between the two of them. Can they survive that wild ride? Or will it be the end of them? Will then end up hurting one another to protect themselves? Are they just too different to makes things work?

I definitely was sad the book ended. It seemed way too quick for me. Though i think the story just sucked me in completely. I’s love to have another book with Drew’s friend Roman…..
