Title: First and Last
Author: Rachael Duncan
Genre: Contemporary Romance
We’ve been inseparable since she moved next door when we were six years old. Then it all changed.
I don’t know when or why, but suddenly I want more. I want her. The problem was she didn’t.
But everything changes when you cross that line between friends and lovers.
I thought convincing her to give us a chance would be my biggest hurdle. Little did I know that was only the beginning.
Mia consumes all of my thoughts when we’re apart, and all of my senses when we’re together. There’s no going back to the way things were and I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure she isn’t just my first, but also my last.
Will we be able to hold on, or will our relationship go up in flames?
“This was the second book I've read by Rachael, and she found a fan for life in me.” -A.M. Madden, USA Today Bestselling author
“Duncan slayed this novel!”
“This story was AMAZING! I started it last night before bed and honestly, I could not put it down.”
“Rachael, I have to say, this is your best work to date. BRAVO!! Definitely a 5 star read with a major book hangover!”
This story is written with so much emotion. All the struggles Mia and Blake go through while trying to keep their relationship together breaks my heart. Mia is everything to Blake. They started as Best friends as a really young age when Mia and her family moved in next door. Eventually Blake starts to "notice" Mia who has now changed from the little he was friends with to a beautiful woman he can't keep his eyes off now. At first Mia is skeptical about them starting anything because she doesn't want them to mess their friendship up. They end up together but then Mia heads off to college. They try really hard to stay together and see each other when they can. Blake is a firemen so keeps himself busy at the firehouse trying to keep his mind off Mia. Blake is a risk taker. He is adventitious and loves a challenge, when things go terribly wrong, when he finds himself minutes away from death literally, Mia is the only one he thinks about. I have so many mixed emotions about the ending of this book. I mean, no one wants a sad ending right? I love how Rachael totally surprises me and turns an ending that could have been incredibly sad into something so much more. It's a beautiful ending to an amazing love story between two soul mates who always found their way back to each other. I highly recommend!
