Michelle Lynn has always been a reader, but her passion has become a full-blown addiction since her
husband bought her a Kindle for Mother's Day. She's pretty sure that he regrets this on a regular basis. Especially when she has it propped up next to the stove while she cooks, which often results in a burnt dinner. Or when he loses sleep because the glow from the screen wakes him up when he rolls over at three in the morning. He does agree, however, that she uses this gift more than any other he has ever gotten her. She joking counters that, because of some of the steamy novels she reads, he also benefits more from this gift than any other he has gotten her. ;)

Michelle moved around the Midwest most of her life, transferring from school to school before settling down in the outskirts of Chicago ten years ago, where she now resides with her husband and two kids. She developed a love of reading at a young age, which helped lay the foundation for her passion to write. With the encouragement of her family, she finally sat down and wrote one of the many stories that have been floating around in her head. When she isn’t reading or writing, she can be found playing with her kids, talking to her mom on the phone, Or hanging out with her family and friends. Excerpt #1

 

“You are my brother’s girl.  If he can’t be h

ere, then I will take care of you.”  He starts looking around on my dresser.

 

“Now you’re the one not in the loop.  I’m not your brother’s girl anymore,” I reveal, trying to keep the tears from streaming down.

 

“I heard something about that, but you’re still Trent’s girl.  Just look at those eyes.”  He points to me.

 

“What?”  I ask, blotting my eyes with my fingers.

 

“You are about two minutes away from crying over him.  I’m not asking again, Maddy.  I will wait for you outside your door.  You have five minutes.” He walks out, shutting the door behind him.

 

I reluctantly throw the comforter off me, getting out of bed.  I guess a shower is out of the question so I shrug on my shorts and t-shirt and slip on some flip-flops.   We are in the middle of an Indian summer so I want to make sure I am comfortable on whatever excursion Gabe is planning for me today.  I brush my hair, putting some mascara on my lashes.  I grab my ID, phone and money and open the door.

 

Gabe is resting against the wall, playing with his phone while girls stare him down as they walk by.  He walks me around campus, serving as my unofficial tour guide. We lick our ice cream cones from his favorite place, laughing over funny stories he tells me about each place we pass.

 

By the end of the day, my cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing so much.  I can't remember a day that I've had so much fun lately, and I can’t believe I have Gabe to thank.

If you are reading this review, you more than likely read Plastic Hearts, which is the 1st book in the series.  (Click on link for our review for Plastic Hearts)  Glass Hearts is book #2 in the series.  Relationships are NEVER easy. Alex and Dane realize that. 

Alex hadn't taken a chance on anyone until she met Dane Wright.  Alex always obeyed her parents and was living the life that "they" wanted her to live.  She didn't have a purpose that was her own.  Alex didn't know what happiness was until she met Dane.  Dane made her feel alive.  Dane was her "everything". "He's my ground, my water, my sky...he's my whole world." ~ Alex Riley

Alex shattered Dane's heart when she broke up with him after her parents threatened to cut her off.  When Alex realized that she had made the wrong decision and should have stood up to her parents, it was too late.  Dane would not accept her apologies and refused to forgive her. After several months apart, both Alex and Dane were miserable.  Alex shows up at Dane's door with last last attempt to convince him to take her back, to tell him that he was her world.  They say, time heals all wounds. Would the time apart make Dane realize that Alex was his future?

While reading the book, my heart broke for Dane.  Dane was always a strong confident guy and he began to doubt his self worth.  Was he good enough for Alex, would Alex accept him with all of his flaws?  While Alex and Dane were broken up, Dane made a few mistakes of his own.  Would Dane have the courage to tell Alex what he did?  Would Alex be able to forgive him?

Dane is a total sweetheart.  He loves Alex unconditionally and it seems like they are both healing each other.  Helping each other find themselves. 

"I'm the man I want to be when I'm with you.  I have never loved, and never been loved like I am when I'm with you." ~ Dane

Life has never been easy for Dane.  His mother is a recovering alcoholic and his brother is a drug addict. Dane feels guilty that his brother has chosen the life that he has.  Could Dane have steered him down a different path in life? Dane struggles with his inner demons and Dane wonders whether he is good enough for Alex.  Can he give Alex the life that she deserves?  Can Dane help his brother get help and go into rehab?

Alex has grown in this book.  She vows to fight for Dean and she refuses to run.  Alex sees that Dane needs her and she will stand by him, no matter if he tries to push her away.  Alex knows that Dane is her future and they both have a past, but she is determined to make their relationship work.   "True love is the hardest thing to find, but it's also the hardest thing to lose." ~ Alex   

Alex pretty much sums up Plastic Hearts in one sentence.

I really enjoyed this book, however I was a tad disappointed with Dane.  I hated to see him doubt himself.  I feel like he sort of did a 360 in this book from when we were first introduced to him in Plastic Hearts.  In Plastic Hearts he was confident and knew that he wanted to succeed in life.  Yes, he had a troubled past, but he didn't let that hold him back.  His past made him the man that he was today, so to see him feel like he was not good enough for Alex, broke my heart.

I am excited to see what the future may hold for Dane, Alex, Jade, Tyler and Nolan.  I was left with so many unanswered questions, so I can only assume there will be more books in this series.

Review:

    The Marriage Merger is the fourth book in the Marriage to a Billionaire series. The story centers on Julietta Conte and Sawyer Wells. As the CEO of her family’s Italian Bakery Julietta has a lot of pressure to make the right decisions; decisions for the company, her employees, her family, leaving decisions for her personal life last. In fact, she doesn’t have much of a personal life. Having been told she is cold in bed by her the few lovers she has had, has given her a complex. She is orgasm-less and doesn’t see any change on the horizon. She focuses on the area in which she is successful. Convincing herself this is enough for her.

    What, or should I say who, she didn’t see coming over the horizon is Sawyer Wells. Sawyer is a man with a blank past. There is nothing known about him before the age of 23. Now the world knows him as a successful business man. He is on the verge of commencing his greatest dream, a hotel named Purity. Sawyer approaches Julietta with an exclusive business deal it is strictly business, at first. It isn’t long before Sawyer picks up Julietta’s submissive nature. It calls to his dominate nature.

    Julietta doesn’t believe Sawyer knows what the hell he is talking about, but she can’t ignore her reaction to him.  They make a bet. The terms of the bet are pretty clear. Neither one thinks the other can hold out. What’s that saying about the road to hell and good intentions? If that saying is true, then the opposite should hold true for Sawyer and Julietta. The road to heaven is definitely paved with bad intentions for Julietta and Sawyer.

    Once they give into their desire trouble begins. Julietta realizes that Sawyer has demons. Demons she can’t begin to comprehend. Sawyer doesn’t expect or know what to do with someone who meets his issues head on. The sparks continue to fly.

    When the supporting cast of characters get involved things get more complicated. Julietta and Sawyer basically get guilt tripped into marriage. (Is this scenario sounding familiar? If you remember Mama Conte, it should.) Watching their relationship develop was nice. This wasn’t a love at first sight love story. The bond that forms between them and Sawyer’s foster son is so sweet. Ms. Probst did a good job of giving insight into a younger Sawyer through Wolfe.

     The only part I really didn’t understand was how Julietta and her family haven’t seen each other in so long. They are rich, with a private plane. It didn’t add up to me. I will say this could have been a way of showing how isolated Julietta was from everyone. It did not detract from the overall story.

     The Marriage Merger holds true to the Marriage to a Billionaire series. Although, now that the love spell book is lost who knows what will happen next. I would really like to see Wolfe get his happily ever after.

REVIEW:

    We were introduced to Kylie Wolfe and Wyatt McCrae in Devoured. It was pretty obvious they had a complicated relationship, or lack of one. Savor You takes place during the same time as Devoured. Kylie decides to take a vacation to avoid falling into the same old trap with Wyatt.

    Wyatt and Kylie have been off and on for eight years, but never really in a relationship. Their complex relationship started when Wyatt discovers Kylie’s secret. She confides in him and gives him her heart. Unfortunately, Wyatt broke Kylie’s heart not long after they hook up for the first time. This begins the cycle of getting together, but never in an official relationship, and going their separate ways.

    Based on the number of blackbird tattoos Kylie has this has happened 18 times. We don’t get very much detail on each tattoo, which was a little disappointing. Ms. Snow takes us on a road trip with Wyatt, Kylie, Cal, and Heidi to retrace the first trip they took before everything went south eight years ago. Wyatt takes Kylie to each place where something significant happened between them.

    Wyatt knows what he wants. He wants a real relationship with Kylie. He knows he is fucked up. He knows he has issues. He is ready to deal with them. Only one person has ever mattered more than Kylie. He has always been there for Brenna. Brenna was the first reason to come between them. He wants Kylie, but he needs to be there for Brenna. Wyatt knows he has enough love for both of them, it just took him a long time to figure it out.

    Kylie isn't so ready to forget. She has always loved Wyatt, even when she married someone else. The tough girl on the outside is a marshmallow for Wyatt. She knows she can’t keep doing this back and forth with Wyatt. Their last split was the final straw with him. Wyatt left her for someone else when she needed him the most. She is giving herself this one last trip down memory lane with Wyatt before she ends this for good.

    I wanted to bite my nails while reading this book. I wanted to tell Kylie to give Wyatt another chance and I wanted to scream at Wyatt to get a clue and tell the woman how he really feels.  You could tell how hard they were both trying, but for different reasons. I liked Kylie and Wyatt, even when they were being unreasonable. Their story was sad in parts. My heart broke for Kylie, but even more for Wyatt. He was the total jackass bad boy trying to make good.

    I liked Devoured, but I can honestly say I liked Savor You even more. As much as I enjoyed Wyatt and Kylie, I wanted this to be their happily ever after. They've been through enough, eight years of enough. Considering this is volume one, I don't think I will get my wish.
