REVIEW:

The dynamic duo has done it again! Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward present us with Park Avenue Player, the latest release of their Cocky Bastard Series. This is by far one of their best books together. I have thought about writing this review for the longest time I everything I wrote won’t do it’s justice. They sucked me into their story, which I devoured in one sitting. I laughed, a lot, I cried and my heart broke several times. I even wanted to toss the kindle. But they were there in the end mending back the pieces together.

Hollis and Elodie first meet when their cars collide Hollis shows his true arrogant asshole behavior while Elodie gave it right back to him. This wouldn’t be their first meeting though. It just so happens that Elodie is interviewing for the job to care after his niece. Which of course she doesn’t get. But with Elodie’s persistence she gets her chance.

Elodie can see her young self in Hailey, which makes it easier for the both of them to connect. She’s a troubled young girl who is living with her uncle trying to find her way. Elodie does a fantastic job with her. You can truly see how much she cares about her and how much Hailey starts to respect her. Hollis on the other hand has no idea on how to deal with a teenager. But with Elodie’s help, this little girl wedges herself into his heart.

I love who Elodie is. She’s very persistent, doesn’t take crap from anyone and has a very caring soul. She puts everyone before her, making sure they’re okay. She hasn’t had the best experience with relationships but it hasn’t deterred her from trying again.

I also loved Hollis. He has a heartbreaking story that affects his future with women. He doesn’t want to put himself in that position again. But just watching him be affected by Elodie is something. Deep inside he isn’t that asshole that he perceives to be. He’s got a soft spot in there.

I truly loved Elodie and Hollis together. The banter between the two of them is hilarious. And goodness the connection they have with one another is just sizzling. They try so hard to keep their attraction from one another separate but their connection is just too strong they can’t stay away. Hollis is such a different person with Elodie’s influence, it was great seeing a different side of him.

The secondary characters were great. Everything in the story flowed rather nicely. We even got a glimpse of Chance and the goat. 😍 And who doesn’t love a parrot in the story?

There’s always a point in a story where they throw a curveball at you. And they sure as hell do here. A big one that I didn’t even see it coming. Like wth. I had to put my kindle down and regroup for a second.

When their two worlds collide will they be able to get beyond it or will the past keep them apart? Will they see it as a sign that faith is intervening wanting them to be together?

This book is truly one that you need to read for yourself. Pick it up today. It will definately be worth your time. Thank you Vi and Penelope for creating this fantastic story, one that will stay with me for a long time.
