REVIEW:

I have to admit, I have not read Book 2 in the series, but I was able to read Torrid Little Affair and follow along quite fine.  I loved Cooper in Dirty Little Secret. I actually wanted Cooper to win Emma's heart, rather than Gavin. But.....  we all know how that worked out.

I wasn't sure what the expect with Cooper's story. I would categorize it as a love at first site book. Cooper fell HARD for his new assistant, Corinne.  Cooper wears his heart on his sleeve. When he falls, he falls hard. He goes after what he wants, and he makes sure to let Corinne know exactly what he wants.

Corinne is hiding something from Cooper. When we find out what it is, I was taken back a little, yet not too surprised. Corinne is VERY loyal, so in my eyes, that earned her points. I wanted Cooper to get his happily ever after, and at times I wanted to punch Corinne for not being honest with him. BUT, I get it. I get why she did what she did. Knowing that Corinne LOVES unconditionally, I am happy that she FINALLY opened up to Cooper. 

I enjoyed this book, but my only complaint is, I felt like the story was rushed a little. At times I thought the story moved too fast. I wanted more of their relationship.  But I guess every relationship moves at its own pace.

REVIEW:

Gavin captured my attention in Because of Him. We got a glimpse into his life. We saw that there was a connection between Gavin and Megan.  But we didn't know what happened between the two that kept them apart.

Knowing what I know now, I see why Gavin did what he did. Sometimes when you love someone, you need to let them go. Megan's safety meant more that his own happiness. He saw that the 'family' did to those that he loved. Loving someone made them a target.  

With each turn of the page, the author reveals hints. Hints that by the end of the book, I had an Oh My God moment. I would have never connected the dots. I would have never pieced this puzzle together. 

Not only did Gavin sacrifice himself for those that he loves, his family did as well. Gavin will stop at nothing to protect that he loves.  Gavin doesn't explain any of this to Megan, therefore, Megan grows tired of the cat and mouse game. Megan has been captivated by him from the moment she met him. She was drawn to him, in ways that she couldn't explain. But after months of being around each other, being drawn to each other, Gavin takes a little of what Megan is offering. But that isn't enough for Megan. She wants more. She wants all of Gavin. But when Gavin tells her he can't. that may be the last straw. If he doesn't want her, than he needs to leave her alone. Stop showing up where she is, and stop interfering in her life. 

But sometimes when our heads tell us one thing, our hearts tell us something entirely different. The heart is the strongest muscle in our bodies. The heart is what keeps us going. Will Megan follow her heart?  Will Gavin follow his? Will Gavin stay away from Megan?  The better question is, can he stay away from her. 

I have to say, I am obsessed with the covers from this series....  OBSESSED. Talk about holy hotness. I can totally envision these two men in the stories.

Kudos to Terri. This series rocks.

I had to adjust myself; it was going to be an uncomfortable walk. When I glanced up, I got an eye full of her fantastic ass and had to catch up if I didn’t want fucking blue balls tonight.

I chuckled. “You’ve made your point. Believe it or not, I don’t have to beg.”
