BLOG TOUR ==> Easy to Love You by Megan Smith

SYNOPSIS:
Hunter finally has MacKenzie Cahill, the girl of his dreams. A horrible accident finds those dreams threatened. As their lives change, secrets begin to surface. These revelations could prove to be either the downfall of Hunter and MacKenzie or the catalyst that strengthens their bond. Hunter has painful choices to make. Will he realize what he has before it’s gone? He knows what he must do to save his future, but will he be leaving everyone else in his past? Will the bond between the two families be strong enough to keep them together?

REVIEW:

Wow! Megan has outdone herself once again! She left us with that horrible cliffhanger in Trying Not to Love You. I got right into the book that I finished quicker than I wanted to. I felt that I read it way too quick that I had to reread it right after I finished. The second time was just as amazing as the first time. There’s a lot more drama in this book, that will definitely keep you on your toes.

Kenzie is on her way to her doctor’s appointment, where Hunter is to meet her. She never shows, but Hunter does. He panics when he realizes it is unlike her to be late to anything. When it comes to his attention that she has been involved in an accident where her car goes off the embankment and she needs to be airlifted to the hospital, his whole world stops. Hunter lives his life for Kenzie (whom he calls CC) and their unborn child. He will do anything to keep them safe. He will never forgive himself if something happens to them.

The doctor’s needed to perform an emergency C-section to save the baby. CC suffers from a broken wrist and ankle. CC took most of the impact, pretty much saving the baby’s life. She has been kept in a coma the entire time, hoping to recover consciousness on her own.
Because of the coma, CC missed a week of their son’s life. Hunter was an amazing man and did something not a lot of men would do. He stepped up to the plate. Hunter took care of their son as best as he could, while still trying to take care of CC and hoping she wakes up. The father and son bond was created that week. Hunter became a natural. His love for CC truly shows. He would spend all his time with the baby and with CC until she would wake up.

When CC finally wakes up and she realizes that she has missed a week of their son’s life, she is filled with nothing but guilt. When Hunter and their son needed her the most, she feels as if she failed them. Hunter and CC have such a connection that goes beyond sex, that he can sense that something is wrong. They can just look into each other’s eyes and it gives away exactly what they are feeling. The feelings they have for each other go beyond just love, they are soul mates.  Hunter reassures her that she did her very best to protect him and that she saved him by taking most of the impact. It is love at first sight when she sees him for the first time. Now they need to try and adjust to life with a newborn.

CC can’t help but feel that everyone is keeping something from her, but no one will fess up and tell her. She hates the fact that they are keeping her out of the loop and keeping things from her. They have always done that to her growing up. Her family felt that keeping her in the dark would protect her and keep her safe. When things finally get out of hand, her dad confesses that he’s been keeping something from her for years to protect her and keep her safe. This completely pisses CC off. Everyone knew. They should have just been honest with her and still kept her safe. Feeling hurt and betrayed, CC cuts her family off for a bit.

Someone from Hunter’s past comes back into his life. Someone he wishes he would never see again. Someone he wants to stay far away from his family. It is his duty to protect CC and Ryder and this is one person that he must protect them from. He desperately wants to tell CC all about his past and who has come back, but he doesn’t want to stress her out more than she already is. He wants her to focus on recovering. Hunter wants to find out why he is here after all these years. How did he even find them and what will he do with them? But until he gets all those answers he must keep him a secret from CC. But when will it be the right time to tell her news like that?

How will CC take it when she finds out the truth? To know that Hunter, the one person who she trusted and told everything to, kept something so big from her? Will she feel betrayed all over again? Will she be able to forgive him? When they both hear the entire truth about everything, will they be able to stomach it? Hunter will learn some secrets kept from him as well. Will he be able to handle them and still support CC? Will they both be able to handle what the outcome may bring? Is this something that they can recover from together?  Or will this be the breaking point?
“I can conquer the world with one hand, as long as you are holding the other.”
Mason and Hailey are quite the pair. Their relationship is very hot and cold. You can never tell if they are together or not. Hailey spends a lot of time pissed at Mason in this book, but it’s only because she is looking out for Kenzie. She hates the secrets that are being kept from her best friend. But you can tell that Mason is truly trying to make the relationship work. I love their back and forth banter though, but I really wish they could get their act together. Hailey is still the old Hailey that we all know and love.

Jailynn and Cooper are a different story. I have no idea what their story is. They say they aren’t together, but yet they’re always together. They spend the night together, but yet, they haven’t slept together. It really makes you wonder what is going on there. Cooper is the biggest player among them, but he seems to be changing, since he’s spending every minute with her. Can he finally be a one woman man? Or will he get bored and want something different?

I absolutely loved the book. Hunter captured my heart. The way he loves CC and just how he stepped up and cared for Ryder. He truly does love her. CC just wants everyone to stop babying her and I get that. She is tough and can actually handle what gets thrown at her. I admire her for her determination. The families are still pretty close knit and I love it! CC and Hunter are thrown into this obstacle and both families must come together to help them get through it. It's as if they can get through anything with their families behind them. Great job Megan, can’t wait to see what Mason and Hailey have in store for us!

I received an ARC for my honest review.

This review was done by Jennelyn.

EXCERPT:
"Damn dude, keep that shit in your pants. You’re going to scar my nephew."

This time CC, Cooper and Jaylinn were laughing. I glared at all of them and walked over to the door, counting backwards.

"How’s Chaos doing?" Cooper asked; taking the seat I’d just vacated next to CC.

"Chaos, huh?" CC asked. I turned to look over at her, wondering if she was going to tell Cooper that we’d decided to keep the name.

Cooper smiled, "Yeah. You know he was born in complete chaos."

CC winked at me before looking at Cooper, "Well Coop, meet Ryder Chaos, Ryder meet Uncle Coop but please, Mommy is begging you, don’t grow up to be like him."

Jaylinn started laughing, "Yeah, please don’t."

Cooper stood up and came to stand by me, glaring at the girls. The door hit me in the back and I stepped forward for Mason to stick his head in.

"Deny it if you want to,” Meg smirks and glances out the back window. “Damn,” she whispers.

“What is it?” Nat asks and rises from the table to see what Meg is looking at. Her eyes widen and she glances back at me and then outside again. “Holy shit.”

I know exactly what they’re watching.

Or, who.

And yes, it is a sight to behold.

“How do you ever get anything done around here?” Meg asks as I rise and lean against the sliding glass door, coffee cradled in my hands, and watch the sexy man in my backyard. “I’d just stand around and watch him all day.”

“Uh, Meg,” I glance over at her and laugh. “You have one of these at home,” I remind her, referring to Caleb’s pro-football star brother, Will, who is also Meg’s live-in boyfriend.

“And it’s a good thing he’s gone most of the day or I wouldn’t get anything done either.”

“It’s starting to rain,” Nat observes, but it doesn’t seem to faze Caleb. He lifts two thick, heavy ropes in both of his hands. The ends are attached to Nat’s photo studio out back. With a firm grip on the ropes, he begins to wave them up and down, quickly, the rain pounding down on him, causing his shirt to cling to every muscle as it flexes and moves with the motion of the exercise.

“Hot damn,” Nat whispers and I silently agree. He continues to pump his arms furiously, effortlessly. “What does that exercise do?” Nat asks.

“Works his arms, back and abdomen, and it’s cardio too,” Meg responds and takes a sip of coffee.

Just then, Caleb drops the ropes, bends down to grab onto a medicine ball and lowers his tall body to the sit-up position.

“Maybe he’ll bend over again,” I murmur, earning giggles from the other two women.

“It’s a good thing Jules isn’t here,” Nat mutters and licks her lips as her eyes watch Caleb hold the medicine ball over his head and easily raise and lower his torso in smooth sit-ups. “She’d never let us watch him like this.”

“Jesus, that medicine ball is fifty pounds,” Meg whispers, amazed.

“Watch this part,” I urge them as Caleb tosses the ball to the side like it’s a beach ball and assumes the push-up position and begins to perfectly execute the push-ups, easily completing more than a hundred of them in two minutes.

“Why aren’t you sleeping with him again?” Meg asks and I choke on my coffee.

“I might be,” I whisper and feel their astonished gazes on me, but I avoid them. “Don’t you dare breathe a word of that to anyone.”

“Who can blame you?” Nat asks just as Caleb stands and returns to the ropes. “Look at those back muscles.”

“Look at that ass,” Meg counters.

“You should see it naked,” I respond and we all giggle again.

“Should I be grossed out by this?” Nat asks, tilting her head to the side. “He’s practically my brother.”

“But he’s not your brother, Nat.” I remind her with a grin. “And the Montgomery men are freaking hot.”

“That’s no lie,” Meg agrees. “Aren’t you going to be late for work?” She asks me.

“I have a few minutes,” I murmur and feel the familiar pull low in my belly as I watch Caleb lay on the ground again and execute more perfect sit-ups with his medicine ball.

It would be the perfect position for me to ride him. I might have to suggest that tonight.

“He’s hardly panting,” I observe. “What kind of physical training must he go through to work that hard and have it hardly phase him?”

“Oh girl, you have no idea the rigorous training they go through to become SEALs. It’s not natural.” Nat shudders. “All of the boys have always been athletic.”

“Obviously,” I murmur sarcastically. “It’s a bit intimidating.”

“Caleb can be the scariest person on Earth if he’s pissed off,” Nat informs us, her eyes still glued to him. “He’s just big and strong, and damn intimidating.”

“You should see him with the girls.” I grin, remembering our movie night last week. “He’s funny and sweet.”

I realize the room has gone dead silent. I look over to my friends to find them looking at each other and then staring over at me. “What?”

“You’ve got it bad,” Nat remarks and snickers. “Welcome to the club.”

“What club?”

“The ‘I Love a Hot Man’ club, sweetheart.” Meg laughs and salutes me with her mug just as Caleb approaches the sliding door, frowning at me. I step back in surprise as the girls giggle.

“What’s wrong?” Caleb asks, is hair and clothes soaked and a little muddy from the rain and grass.

“Nothing,” I reply and shrug.

He narrows his eyes at me, watching me closely, then turns his gaze to Nat and Meg.

“What’s going on with you guys?”

“Nothing at all,” Nat replies with a huge grin. “Just girl talk.”

“Uh huh.” He props his hands on his lean hips and watches all three of us for a moment and then shrugs and saunters to the fridge to pull out a cold bottle of water. “We have to leave soon,” he reminds me.

COVER REVEAL - Love Resisted by Melanie Codina

LOVE RESISTED is Book #2 in
The Real Love Series!!!!

BLURB:

For Allie Baxter, love was never something she had to worry about. She was loved by her friends, her family, her husband … until the day it was ripped away. Losing love was the deepest pain Allie had ever endured, and it was an agony she vowed to avoid feeling ever again. Crippled with guilt over her loss, for five years Allie served her self-appointed exile from the daily comforts offered by friends and family, only to return and attempt to fit herself back into their open arms—even if she knew she didn’t deserve it. Mike Lawson was not something Allie expected; the love of a man was not something Allie was prepared to want. The spark of desire that had long ago died inside her suddenly returned, bringing the memories of her pain with it. She swore she would never allow herself to love again … but how long could love be resisted?

TEASER:

Allie stepped out her front door and immediately missed the cool air-conditioned condo she just left. It took a moment to adjust to the heat in the air as she locked her front door. Southern California may not be hot and humid like the east coast, but this was a hot for San Diego in June. It should make for long afternoon at her nephews outdoor graduation. She was making her way down the steps when she heard her neighbor’s voice, “Well don’t you clean up nice.” She wasn’t expecting to run into Mike Lawson just yet, so it caught her totally off guard and she stopped abruptly. If she were being completely honest with herself, she had hoped to avoid him entirely—forever would be good—but since they were neighbors, it wasn’t a realistic expectation. Her need to avoid him and all of his hotness was becoming a strong necessity for her self-preservation.

His ability to melt her with only a smile was beginning to wear her down. Her only defense against him was to be snarky. Pulling her I’m-the-queen-bitch persona tightly around her, she turned to him, cocked her hip, and placed her fist appropriately as she said, “That implies that you think I look like shit the rest of the time, Lawson. You really need to work on how to compliment a lady.” Raising her eyebrows at him in challenge, she continued while gesturing to her entire body, “I’ll have you know, this is just another level of fabulous I'm demonstrating here.”

The man had the nerve to throw a huge grin her way, once again showing her that he was not fazed in the slightest by her snarky attitude. Just another reason to stay the hell away from the man, she thought as she finished making her way down the steps. It was becoming harder to ignore him on a physical level. Not to mention the fact that he made her belly flutter and her heart rate pick up when she saw him. Every time she thought about his effect on her, it pissed her off. She knew it was paramount to resist him at all costs.

What she really needed to do was move the hell out of the condo near his. The problem with that was, she loved her new place. Well, it wasn’t hers yet, but she planned on making an offer when the landlord’s lease was up. Even though she only found this place because of Mike, she secretly hoped he would randomly up and move, solving her problem immediately. She really wanted to stay there. It finally felt that she had come to a point where she was okay being alone, and she wasn’t living with a ghost anymore. It was almost like she had moved on … maybe a little bit … almost. But just because she felt that way, didn’t mean that she had moved on, moved on. That wasn’t about to happen, may never happen ever again … she couldn’t let it.

Her thoughts were interrupted by McHottness himself when he fell into step next to her and said, “Maybe so, but then how else would I get that fire snapping in your eyes? Mission accomplished if you ask me.” Shocked by his blatant admittance that he was trying to rile her up, she swung her head his direction to say something when he winked at her. Once again shocking her and rendering her temporarily speechless. She was this close to kicking him in the shin when he continued, “I take it you are on your way to the graduation as well. Want a lift?”

Thankful for his question to bring her out of her shocked moment, she said. “A lift? It’s more like a hoist. I need a damn trampoline to get up into that truck of yours.” And as if the great Gods of Nastiness were smiling down on her, she snatched the opportunity to up her game from snarky to bitchy. “Just what kind of message are you trying to put out there anyway? Everyone knows a big truck like that only says the owner suffers from little dick complex.”

They were walking and had made their way around back to where the garages were located so she didn’t see, only heard him huff a laugh before saying. “There certainly is no little dick to have a complex about. I assure you …” He mumbled something at the end, but she didn’t catch it. Not wanting to prolong the conversation she ignored the desire to ask him to repeat himself. Pointing her keys at the shiny red Mini-Cooper to unlock it when Mike popped the bottom of her outstretched hand, causing her keys to fly up in the air. As soon as they were airborne, he reached out and grabbed them before she could process what was happening. Shocked again, she looked over at him only to see that damn smile once more before snarling at him, “What the hell did you do that for?”

“I offered you a ride, you didn’t decline, only mocked my truck. Therefore, by not rejecting it, you inadvertently accepted it.” He shrugged, smiled bigger, and finished with, “Well, at least in my book you did, so get in the truck, Baxter.” Turning away from her, he walked toward his truck, her keys in hand. Still a little startled at his maneuver to get her keys, yet slightly impressed since it was something she would do, she stood there and watched as he made his way to the oversized truck. When he stopped at the passenger door and looked back at her, he laughed and said, “Oh come on, I’ll give you a boost. And I won’t even try to look up your skirt … scouts’ honor.”

Shaking her head, she made her way toward him as she grumbled, “Is that the box-car-building kind of scout or the cookie-peddling ones? I bet you probably looked great in that green sash.” Tossing her purse on the floorboard of the truck, she reached up and grabbed the handle to lift herself in but turned her head and looked back at him over her shoulder. “I bet the little beret looked good, too.”

Feeling like she had been bitchy enough to make him not want to have her for company, she turned back to the open truck door. Preparing to jump in, she let out a squeal when Mike’s big hands wrapped around her waist and hefted her effortlessly into the cab. Turning quickly to glare down at him for doing such a thing, she only met his intent stare as he said, “I look good in anything I wear sweetheart. Now buckle up, wouldn’t want you to fall out or anything.” And then he closed the door.
