Vi Keeland once again knocked it out the park with The Boss Project.
I had a feeling that the moment Merrick and Evie met, they would make a great pair. It was such an awkward first meeting in the dressing room, but it cracked me up. I would have died if that happened to me. Then meeting him again interviewing for the job. I loved how Evie did not take any crap from Merrick, she challenged him every moment she could. I felt that he loved it because no one was brave enough to do that. Throughout the book, Merrick shows that hard exterior where everyone is afraid to approach him, everyone but Evie that is. He tries so hard to show everyone that side of him and nothing else. He is devoted to his work and there is a past that has made him the way that he is.
I absolutely loved Evie’s character. She has gone through so much in her past, but that does not stop her from moving forward with her life. It caused her to guard her heart a bit more closely. I adored her relationship with her sister. I wish I had a sister who had my back as much as hers does, but I got stuck with a brother instead LOL.
Merrick and Evie have a common person in both their lives. We watch Merrick and Evie navigate through their work relationship, while entwining a much more personal one whether they wanted it to or not. I truly feel Kitty brought them together. I absolutely loved Kitty, she was my favorite character. She is a hoot. I’m glad they both had a Kitty in their lives. We get a front row seat to watching Merrick and Evie find out who they truly are, what they want from life and get down through the tough barriers each of them have placed. It was a journey, one I was glad to be a part of. Of course those lines were finally crossed and boy was I glad. Since their first meeting it seemed that there was a lot of chemistry between these two and the tension was building. It was a matter of time before it exploded and boy oh boy was it amazing! I knew from the very beginning these two were going to be explosive.
These two will put you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions- all the feels, but so well worth it. I loved the banter between them. I loved how they broke each others walls down, I loved seeing them both become different people once they got past things. These two have definitely come full circle. I didn’t want it to end. I was all about Merrick and Evie. I kind of still am. I’m stuck on a book hungover. get your copy now! you won't regret it.
