Excerpt 2:
“Can I cash in that ticket now? You’re so fucking hot,” the tipsy blonde says into my ear, taking me away from my thoughts. I pull back and gaze into her face.

She’s attractive with her platinum hair and dark eyes, but she doesn’t have
that spark I’m looking for—that thing that’s sometimes in another person that
can light you up and remind you that you’re alive. This chick is here for the
ride, which is fine, and I’ll happily give her what she craves, but it’ll only
be instant gratification for me. That few seconds of bliss that makes me
forget about everything else, but the here and now. I’m addicted to
forgetting. My life is something I would love to sometimes forget.

She leans in and runs her tongue across my lips. “I want you.”

She’s persistent. I’ll give her that. The quick flicks of her tongue against
mine causes my dick to grow hard and strain against my jeans. “Come with
me.” I nearly toss her off my lap before I take her hand and pull her into the
next room. It’s a cleaning supply storage closet, but there’s enough room
in here to get the job done. Blondie is eager. She goes right to work on freeing my cock from my jeans. It springs up once she shoves my
jeans and boxers down a little. She wraps her fingers around me and gives
me a couple quick tugs. I suck in a quick breath. “Jesus.”

She’s done this before. You don’t get great hand job skills without some
practice. She drops to her knees, but I pull back. “Not without a condom.”

I never let random hookers lick my dick without one. It’s probably not
the most pleasant experience for them to basically suck rubber, but I don’t
have any sexually transmitted diseases and I would like to fucking keep it that
way. I don’t know where the fuck her mouth’s been. I don’t even know her
name for fuck’s sake. I tear the foil package with my teeth, pull the rubber out and then roll it onto my cock. She runs her tongue up and down my length. “You have a huge cock. I want you to fuck me with it really hard.”I know this is a further ploy to turn me on, but I hear the same lame ass lines from different chicks every
night. I stare down at her as she swirls my dick around her lips, before taking
me into her mouth. She’s slow at first with a nice,
steady rhythm, but I know I don’t want to be trapped with her very long, so I
grab a handful of her hair and coax her into sucking faster. I close my eyes and try to forget where I am, and even who I am, focusing only on how good I feel.
That’s when I’ll be damned if Kitten doesn’t pop back into my mind. I can
see her leaning against the wall where I first spotted her. The feel of her
smoking hot body shoved against mine, and the little moan she let slip into my
mouth when I kissed her plays in my thoughts. Suddenly, I imagine us naked
against that wall, with me driving my cock balls-deep into her.

“Fuck!” A tingle takes over my entire body and I clench every muscle in my body as I come hard. A couple shudders ripple through me as I untangle my hand from the blonde’s hair. “Can you go again? I didn’t get anything out of this,” she whines. I shrug. “Better luck next time, sweetie. I’m done with you, so you can
go ahead and go.” I nod towards the door. She stands with a scowl on her
face. “Fuck you!” I shake my head, but refuse to make eye contact because I’m actually kind of embarrassed. I didn’t mean to lose my shit so fast, but I have to play it off. No one wants to be thought of as a one-minute man. “No thanks. It was
hard enough coming for you the first time. Now leave.” “Asshole!”

His Southern Temptation by Robin Covington

Summary:

Some women are bad. Some women are a bad idea. The best ones are both...
A former Black Ops assassin, “Lucky” Landon has had more near-misses than a man should ever have. Now he’s out of that business and settling into the simple life in his small hometown. So the last thing he ever expected was to end up at gunpoint. Or that the woman holding the gun would be his best friend’s little sister and Lucky’s on-again/off-again lover.
Taylor Elliott is Trouble, and she likes it that way. And seeing Lucky again? Well, he’s been her dirty little secret for the past few years and everyone knows that secrets in a small town are almost impossible to keep. But Taylor has bigger problems on her plate. Like the local mob boss who wants her dead.
And right now the only thing standing between Trouble and disaster is a hottie named Lucky...

Review:

Holy smokiness! T his book is hot!  I can just feel the attraction, heat and sparks coming off these two characters!  Robin Covington does a wonderful job captivating me throughout the entire book.  It was nice and steamy, always filled with some sort of drama.  It was swoon-worthy and at some parts heartbreaking.

Taylor Elliot left her hometown and started a new life for herself all the way across the country.  Now she is back home for a few weeks, wrapping up a few family matters, getting her money, and going back to start the business she has been dreaming of.  After certain situations occur, she has come out of her shell and has become very open and carefree.

Lucky left his job as a “Marine” to come home and help his father settle his debt on their family farm.  With the idea of wanting to leave his demons behind, he believes that the farm will provide him a new life.  The new Lucky back home is different, he wants to settle down and he doesn’t want to be unsure of his life.

Both, Lucky and Taylor were never ones to keep relationships, which is why flings seemed so easy to them. They could always satisfy their fix, no strings attached and move on.  Things take a turn when they have to stay at the same house.  Old feelings surface and their hot and heavy romance picks up where they last left off.  Their romance must remain a secret or her brother and Lucky’s best friend, Teague, will end it for both of them.  However, lines start to cross and fun starts to mean something more; scaring them both.
“I want you to stay, baby. It’s all I’ve ever wanted. I want you to stay.” - Lucky
As much as Lucky wants to stay away from trouble, trouble seems to always find Lucky.  Taylor finds herself going behind Lucky’s back so she can get the inside scoop on one of his cases.  By doing so, she has caught the eye of a big time mob boss.  She finds herself in a whole lot of trouble and only one person can help save her.  Lucky does everything he possibly can to protect her, even if it means giving everything up.

Will Taylor run away like she always does? Or will she finally stay to find out where her feelings will take her?  Is he really serious about settling down, or is this a usual fluke thing?  Is she worth giving everything up for?  Will they both be able to put their insecurities aside and let their feelings take them somewhere?

I really enjoyed this book, a lot.  I only wished it was a little bit longer.  I was left wanting more of Taylor and Lucky, I can’t seem to get enough of them!  Job well done!

"Boycotts & Barflies" by Victoria Michaels - Review

Synopsis:
After an endless string of bad dates and a generally pathetic love life, Grace Park and her friends decide to boycott men for six weeks. With a fantastic pair of shoes on the line for the woman who makes it to the end without breaking any rules, the competition gets fierce. Sparks fly a few days into the bet when Grace and her friends cross paths with a sexy bartender named Michael Andris who happens to have a little bet of his own going with his friends....

Review:

What happens when 3 women decide to boycott dating after a series of less than stellar dates and 3 guys decide to stop dating barflies & look for nice girls?  Fate gets pissed off and decides to have some revenge by throwing these 2 groups of strangers together. Once they get together sparks fly.
The main characters are the shy book worm, Grace and the gorgeous hunk of a bartender, Michael.  Each is supported by their 2 best friends and partners in their bets/boycotts.  Grace’s roommates are the vivacious, Meg & the sophisticated beauty, Bianca.  The quiet guy, Ryan & the jokester, Jack are Michael’s fellow bartenders and business partners.

Barflies & Boycotts has all the things I like in a romance. There is humor, tension, falling in love, angst without feeling contrived and some pretty good spice when the time comes. I have to say this is one of the top re-reads in my kindle. I’ve read it so many times I’ve lost count.  That says something in the age of 1-click Amazon.

Not long after each group of friends makes their wager each of the ladies separately stumble across their love interest.  Grace has a run in with Michael in the library, while he, Ryan and Jack are looking for nice girls.  Meg spots Ryan across the club, but she is off limits because he  met her in a bar.  Hmmm Jack manages to grab Bianca’s attention while trying to catch his wiener.  Yeah, you have to read the book to understand that one.

Grace wouldn’t normally give Michael the time of day because she thinks he is way out of her league.  He is hot, smart, sexy, sweet, caring, funny, the total package. Did I mention he is HOT?  She has nothing to lose by hanging out with him, since she can’t date anyway.  They take their time getting to know each other in innocent ways.  If you can’t do it in front of your parents it is considered sex and is off limits. Reading how they try to finagle their way around the rules to get time together is very entertaining.  You feel their love for each other growing. You understand Grace’s reservations.  You want to shake her and tell her to snap out of it and grab the dream.  If she doesn’t you will.

Ms. Michaels has written a great love story with a wonderful supporting cast.  The only thing I would change is I want to know more about the love stories between Meg/Ryan & Bianca/Jack.  They aren’t left out of the story, but after reading Grace and Michael’s love story I couldn’t help feeling like I missed out on theirs.  I laughed (all I can say is wiener) and sighed in equal measure.  When I closed the book I couldn’t help wishing there was more.

BLOG TOUR -- the girl in 6E by Alessandra Torre

BLURB:

I sew men for money. Not literally, think phone sex operator with a 15 megapixel web cam thrown in. They tell me their deepest, darkest fantasies while paying me $6.99 a minute.
What would possess me to engage in such a business? Throw in a tortured past, 24/7 murderous thoughts, and a desire to keep the innocent people of my small town safe.

I was contained, out of the way, sexcamming my way to utter obscurity until HE came along. A twisted client armed with a targets name. Annie. And in that name, everything changed.
Warning: This book contains explicit sexual references, and should not be read by anyone under the age of 18.

REVIEW:

I am not even sure where to start with this book. It was totally different from anything I have read.  The Girl in 6E is a very erotic "dark" thriller.  The sex scenes are VERY detailed.

After DeAnna a/k/a Jessica experiences a horrific event when was young.  DeAnna hides a secret deep inside her.  After the tragic events of her past, she isolates herself due to her urges to kill, which has forced her to become a hermit and lock herself in her apartment.  She isolates herself from society and all human contact. Everything she needs, she gets off the internet or from people she meets online.

DeAnna's only contact with the outside world is through online sex camming. (It's when two or more people video chat and engages in sexual acts to masturbate) DeAnna doesn’t trust herself enough to have face to face contact with people. While doing this, she meets men from all backgrounds in life, doctors, lawyers, teachers, as well as criminals.
"Jessica. Not my real name. He thought he knew me. They all thought they knew me.

After all, they've seen my Facebook page, seen the photoshopped photos that construct my manufactured life. They believe what they see because they want to believe."

While sex camming, one particular client has a fetish with role play.  He requests that DeAnna dress a specific way to make herself look innocent, younger and the client asks if he could call her Annie.  She has sex cammed with this individual on various occasions.  Something just seems off and DeAnna uncovers something and must decide how to handle this situation.  Does DeAnna have a moral obligation to report her suspicions to the authorities?  Will the authorities believe her, if she tells them she discovered this while sex camming or will see have to get involved?

There is romance in this book as well.  DeAnna receives packages on a daily basis.  She has her meals delivered to her apartment on a monthly meal plan.  She has an arrangement with the UPS man, Jeremy, he knocks, she thanks him for leaving the package at the door, he signs her name and then he goes on his way.  The UPS man is very curious about DeAnna.  He wants to know more about her, get a glimpse of her.  Jeremy becomes very intrigued by DeAnna.  DeAnna on the other hand likes that Jeremy accepts their arrangement, by just knocking and leaving the packages at the door.  This all changes one day, when DeAnna does not respond when he knocks, therefore leaving Jeremy to think that something is wrong inside the apartment.  How will DeAnna react towards Jeremy's concern for her?

This book was totally different from the books that I usually read.  I was intrigued by the subject matter and the story line that develops throughout the book. Over all, I enjoyed it.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.  This review was prepared by Heather.

And though it sounds crazy, she believes a one-night stand is the best way to take back what’s hers. If she can choose where, when, and most importantly, who … maybe she can regain control.

First, she needs a willing participant.

She finds more than that when she meets Noah Adler.

Unfortunately, she can’t go through with it. And when she tries to forget about the plan—and the guy—it becomes impossible.

Noah quickly weaves his way into her new life and her heart. But as he comes dangerously close to discovering her secret, Tabby’s at risk of losing it all.

REVIEW:

"Before You Go" is Clare James' debut novel.  I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Tabitha "Tabby" thought she had it all.  She was a popular dancer, had tons of friends and what she thought was the perfect boyfriend, until one night at a college party everything changed.  Tabby became the subject of a public sex scandal at her college in Illinois.  The sex scandal has left Tabby broken.  Her father and her step mother feel is it best for Tabby to start over, to have a new beginning in a new city.  Tabby has convinced herself that by having a one night stand, she will be able to take back control of her life.

Tabby heads out to the bar and sets her sights on an attractive guy at the end of the bar.  After a few drinks, Tabby has the courage to approach the guy and they end up hanging out the rest of the night without even exchanging names.  Tabby felt by exchanging names, she would personalize the one night stand.  Tabby only wanted one thing, sex, and sex that she was in control of.

Once back at Tabby's apartment, she realizes that she can not go through with it and asks for him to leave.

"Oh, and by the way" he whispers
"The name is Noah.  You know, in case you're thinking about me later.  Good to have a name with a face.  Don't you think?"

After a night out with her father and step mother, Tabby runs into Noah again.  A few days later, Tabby runs into Noah again at the University.  It appears Noah and Tabby have a class together and she will also be working under Noah at the university newspaper.

Noah is attracted to Tabby, that much is clear.  Noah wants to know more about Tabby, however Tabby is not looking for a romantic relationship, but she agrees on a friendship.  Noah is persistent and overtime, Tabby can not deny her feelings for Noah.  Noah knows that Tabby is keeping something from him but he never pushes her.  Noah was perfect in Tabby's eyes, but she soon discovers that Noah has a past of his own.  Can two people who both have a past, help each other heal?

I enjoyed watching Tabby and Noah's relationship grow.  Noah, oh Noah…  Noah is a complete sweetheart. The gentle way he helps Tabby overcome her intimacy issues.  Noah is amazingly patient with Tabby and he helps her find and rebuild herself.
Noah is such a likable character.  Tabby and Noah had a great connection.

Tabby had AMAZING people in her life, who were very supportive.  I enjoyed getting to know the sub-characters as well.  The author makes you have an immediate connection with them.  Jules is Tabby's friend that she meets at school.  Jules is the type of friend that every girl should have in their life.  Jules was always there for Tabby, whether it was just a shoulder to lean on or just to talk.  Jules never judged Tabby for her past, because like everyone, Jules had a past of her own.  Think about it…  Who doesn't have a past, whether it's characters in a novel or in real life? We all do…..

"It's time to move forward, Tabby.  Time for you to build the life you want to live and stop being a victim."

There are real issues in this book, such as sexual assault, suicide, depression and finding a way to recover. I think the author did a fabulous job by bring attention to these issues.

I would definitely recommend this book if you are looking for a quick read with a great storyline…

"MAFIA CAPTIVE" by KITTY THOMAS - REVIEW

Mafia Captive by: Kitty ThomasMafia Captive by Kitty Thomas
SYNOPSIS:

Faith Jacobson was in the wrong place at the wrong time. After witnessing a mob hit, she’s only moments from death when Angelo Raspallo decides to give his brother an unlikely gift.

Leo has avoided involvement with the family business, but it doesn’t make him a saint. He’s troubled and ashamed by his darker sexual desires, one of which is to own a slave. But when his brother throws Faith at his feet, repainting the scenario to make Leo the hero rescuing her from certain death, his moral fortitude will be tested. If Faith were kinky, it would be easy to live out his fantasy, but she’s not. Not even a little bit. Even the mildest spanking sparks terror in her that Leo can’t bear.

The gift soon becomes a burden as he fights with himself over how to handle the addition to his home. He could release her, but his brother doesn’t do loose ends. The only thing keeping her out of the bottom of the harbor is Leo’s mercy. She’s like a beautiful piece of art he keeps in a glass case but can never touch. Is possessing her enough?

REVIEW:

What would you do to live? How hard would you fight your instinct to survive to maintain your morals?
Those are a couple of questions posed in the book Mafia Captive. When 23 year old Faith Jacobson witnesses a mob hit she is forced to be a slave to the hit man’s twin brother. Leo Raspallo is not a monster. He fights desperately against his dark desires once he sees Faith is not into kink. Faith is not into kink at all. These two are forced into a situation that can only be escaped by death.  Mafia Captive tells the story of how they both get what they want.
Mafia Captive was a typical Kitty Thomas book in ways and a total departure in others. Leo acknowledges his dark sexual desires & embraces them to a degree. He can’t bring himself to enact his ultimate fantasy, to own a slave. He knows his desires are a part of him & he doesn’t want to live a life with only part of the fantasy. A submissive that isn’t a masochist won’t work in the long run.

When Leo gets the opportunity to be the “hero” and save a woman who fits his physical type he briefly entertains the notion of keeping Faith as his slave. That is until he realizes she has absolutely none of the same desires. His conscience won’t allow him to force BDSM onto an unwilling victim. However, he can’t let her go. He is forced to keep his captive in a gilded cage, like a beautiful piece of art work he can only admire from a distance.

Faith sees Leo as the lesser of two evils. She can’t help but fear him. She can’t be what he wants, but she has to figure out some way to keep him happy. Risking another woman giving him what he desires makes her precarious position even more dangerous.  As much as Faith wants to see Leo as a prince in a shiny castle she knows he isn’t.  Her instinct to survive battles her fear to capitulate to Leo’s sexual needs. If she gives in will she lose herself or find what she has always wanted, a complete life?

Mafia Captive is like Comfort Food with a conscience. Leo has been given something precious and he wants to bend her to his will & break her. Faith’s unwillingness triggers his conscience. Reading the story of his struggle to stay away from her and her struggle to bring him closer without giving is so tantalizing. Leo wants to play a mind game with Faith to get her to come to him willingly; he just can’t bring himself to do it. In the end he doesn’t need to make a play for her.

Once again they become a victim to Leo’s brother’s machinations, when he tells their mother Leo is engaged. Over a long Christmas holiday Faith is forced to pretend to be the doting fiancé if she wants to stay alive. The more she pretends the more she fears she is falling for the pretense. Knowing she can’t give him what he desires, but fearing he will have his desires slaked else wear cause endless worry for Faith.

After a failed attempt for Faith to be the slave Leo wants he avoids her. Leo penance for hurting Faith breaks her in a way none of his training could. She realizes she cares for him. He brings in hired submissives so he can fulfill his desires without hurting Faith. These acts hurt her more than any physical pain he has inflicted on her body. Faith makes the decision to become what he needs, no matter the cost. As wedding plans are made Faith begins to be molded into Leo’s perfect slave. Leo can’t resist what she offers him.

When the final scene plays out you don’t wonder what happens next in their lives. There is no question as to who got what they wanted and if one or the other is living a half-life to make the other happy.  Can a captive fall in love with her captor or is it Stockholm Syndrome? Can a captor come to genuinely love his slave while having his needs met? For once Kitty actually gives the readers the answer.

I enjoyed Mafia Captive. The story wasn’t as graphic & violent as some of her other books. The angst and psychological byplay are still there in full force. Leo and Faith’s story felt complete. Another solid story, that didn’t disappoint. The things we’ve come to expect from a Kitty Thomas book have been softened a little, but they are definitely still there.

Exclusive Excerpt:

**Disclaimer: This content is unedited and subject to change**

I awake and slowly blink the sleep out of my eyes. The sun is fading, casting dark shadows in the room. I turn my head to see I’m alone in the bed. Lying on my stomach, staring non-seeing into the room, I remember how exquisitely fucked I was just a few hours ago.

The feel of his hard body over me and his cock moving in and out of me, the sweat dripping off him as we both came. I feel myself get turned on all over again, and he isn’t even here touching me. Then I remember his muted words spoken right before I fell asleep.

“I want you to know I would have waited another sixteen years to be able to feel that with you again.”

I’m finding it hard to believe that Jacob could rescue me from the prison I’ve put myself in over the years, living the life of someone other than whom I feel I should be. Even if that is my true wish, wishes don’t always come true.

The hotel room door opens and Jacob walks in carrying a couple bottles of water from a vending machine, setting them on a side table. He looks yummy as he walks to the bed with a wide smile on his face. Sitting next to me on the edge of the bed, he bends down and kisses my shoulder and down my naked spine, stopping where the sheet lies just above my ass.

“Hey, sleepyhead.” He murmurs in between those drugging kisses. My legs start to stir beneath the sheet and I’m tempted to take another ride before I have to leave.

“Hi. If you keep doing that, you’re not going to be able to stop me from having my wicked way with you again and I need to leave soon.” I sigh with frustration.

“Maybe that’s exactly what I want.” Running a finger up and down my spine, he stretches out next to me.

“I’m sure it is, but I have stuff to get done before I’m back on the road in a few days. I warned you I didn’t have much time but I would do my best to make this work.”

“It feels like I just got you back, and now you have to go away again. I’d much rather see your beautiful face, instead of dreaming of it. Will you have time to sneak away again before you fly out?”

“I’m not sure. We’ll have to play it by ear. I don’t know how much I have to give you, Jacob. And I’m not just talking about my time either. I’ve been going down this lonely path for a while now and I’m not sure where it’s left me. Regardless of what we did today, I am still a married woman with commitments and responsibilities.” I hate bringing up this fact, but I need the reminder out there that this isn’t a fairytale. Its real life, and its messy.

He leans over and thoroughly kisses me before murmuring, “I know. And I’ll take whatever I can get with you. It’s better than having none of you.”

With that parting blow, he kisses me one last time, grabs his keys and heads out.

“Text me later, baby. I’ll be waiting.”

I sure hope I know what I’m doing, because it feels as though things are going to get extremely complicated.

COVER REVEAL - CHOICES by Sydney Lane

SYNOPSIS:

Fate brought her here, but will her choices destroy her dreams?

Quincy Priest made all the right choices in her small town, black-and-white life. But being perfect is tiring. So. Very. Tiring.

Wanting desperately to step out of her sister's shadow, Quincy jumps at the opportunity to attend college with her best friend. The quiet bookworm with family secrets comes out of her shell. But when Quincy meets not one, but two perfect guys, she has to make a choice. In doing so, she might forfeit the relationship she secretly longed to find.

Declan. Sweet, handsome, and perfect. He makes her feel cherished for the first time in her life.

Brody. Sexy, hot, and irresistible. He could tear down her carefully built walls.

Before she can become the woman she wants to be, Quincy will make mistakes. And suffer one unimaginable loss.

EXCERPT: (This excerpt is unedited and subject to change)

Just as I get to my car, a hand wraps around mine. I swing around, only to find Brody looking down at me. “Did you think of an answer to my question, Quince? Are you with Declan or not?”

I’m not sure why it matters to him. He’s not interested in me like that anyway. “I’m not with anyone, Brody. I’ve only known him a week. That’s not long... enough to know anything about anyone.”

“Oh, I don’t know about that. I know enough about you to know that I want to get to know you better.” His voice lowers, and he leans down just close enough that I can feel his breath on my cheek. “I know enough to know that I’d like to kiss you right now. To know that if I do, it won’t be nearly enough.” His lips graze my face, just enough to let me know they are there. “I know you want to kiss me like I want to kiss you. I just don’t know the answer to my question.” If I just moved an inch, his mouth would be on mine. And I want it.
